I just got braces and i'm wondering when my teeth will ever get straight

Hi. I am also from the Philippines. I would like to ask how long have you been wearing your braces already. 'Coz most of the time, 1 year will already be enough and sometimes less than a year. Your occlusion should have already corrected thru braces and then after that, you should wear Hawley appliance or what other people call "maintainers" to avoid the teeth from moving again and to maintain the corrected alignment. You should see to it that you regularly go to your orthodontist for wire adjustments so that there won't have any relapse and it would take you lesser time for your teeth alignment to correct. Oh. Be warned that wearing orthodontic braces fro long period of time, let say 2 years or more, can cause serious problems in your gums and can make your teeth forever mobile / wobbly. It's also called periodontitis. For some extreme cases, the roots of the teeth can become very short due to resorption (clubbing of tooth roots which is another effect of wearing braces for very long time. That's why it is really a must that you go to a real and licensed orthodontist. Have regular check-ups, and do not wear braces more than the recommended time you need to wear them. Hello Loely_f16 I just got braces put on yesterday oh and the Pain today especially when I put pressure on them. My orthodontist said about 12 - 18 months to keep the braces on..... I'm only on day 2 and I can see and feel of course they are moving slowly.....
