Before I start discussion, I would like to share a joke that my friend sent me:
An employee got an extra $200 merely because of error on accounts department part. He was happy even though he knew that it’s by mistake. Next month, $200 were deducted from his salary and he was furious. He went to accounts manager and complained about this ‘mistake’. When the manager asked him why he didn’t complain about last month’s mistake, he replied, “Well the thing is I don’t mind if you make a mistake once, but if it becomes a habit, I have to say something!!!LOL!
My question: Do you, or have you ever complained when you were at the receiving end of benefit?
In more general terms:
Do you complain when something is not bothering you or affecting you directly?

I do take time to complain and solve whatever may be disturbing me, even if it doesn't affect directly. I am just plain nosy! That I have a habit of sticking into the business of others. Most of the time, I really try so hard not to involve myself and just observe whatever may be happening. However, there are a number of times that I just can't help myself and stick my big foot into the business.

When something bad that is really happening, I think one is morally oblige to do something about it and not just be a bystander even if it doesn't affect one directly. I remember what a wise man once said that for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing. Thank you for your kind words.

You have a kind heart, cdparazo! While it may not be good to interfere in private affairs of others, it's one of the distinctive features of humans that they protest on inhumane behaviors even if they aren't personally affected. It disturbs me sometimes when people remain silent over things which aren't causing them any harm but affecting the whole society or humanity otherwise. Thanks for sharing your views!:-)

This is a very funny joke and it really reflects human being's nature But if it ever happened to me, I would ask my boss why I would have extra USD200 because I needed to know whether I had a salary raise. But I never think my boss would make such a mistake. But in fact he did make such a mistake once, but the disappointing thing is he paid me less by a mistake

Haha I liked the joke! This has happened to our payroll before.. I actually did tell my manager that i think I got more than what i should. He said they will look it up, luckily they have never traced it. Well at least i told them there was an error, i dont want to be deducted next cut off that is why i told them already.
as for your inquiry, i do complain if it will become a future problem like what i did the last time when i got more than what they should give me. I do this because it may not be a concern at this time, but it may be sooner or later. It is always better for me to settle things as they are still current.

Hello chiyosan!:-)
I am glad that you liked the joke. You re right that things should be kept as straight as possible otherwise they may come to haunt us when they are least desired as the Murphy's Law suggests! It's good of you to tell them to correct error, Thanks for sharing!:-)

If it doesn't bother me, I don't complain. In the case of the 200. I would have expected the deduction. But I would have tried my best to explain that the 200 wasn't mine.

That was funny! Anyway, I was taught to always be honest, although sometimes I slip... I've returned money that is not meant for me, because I also believe that it's going to bite me in the @$s one day. I think it is best practice to make things right.
