Did you plant a money tree too? Recently I got within about 50 miles of you in my travels (Terra Haute)as I was going from Kansas City to Indianapolis. Eventually I will be in your area. But I don't know if I will pull weeds or just sit and watch you do it...lol.

Oh, I wish it was warm enough to start planting outside. We got 6 in. of snow yesterday. I am so sick of the snow now and ready for warmer weather. On next Saturday we are hitting the high 50s. I did buy some seeds and I am going to get them planted tomorrow. I can't wait to get my garden tilled and then planted. I can't wait to get my flowers planted and my ponds up and going also. I might even get bold and plant veggies around the one pond this year that has a sink and a bathtub for the ponds. What do you think about putting herbs in the sink? I am going to keep the fish in the pond though.

You are both lucky in that I have to wait until the middle of May before I can think of putting any plants or seeds in my garden. I encourage the worms in my garden by feeding them vegetable scraps through out the year. not just putting the scraps in a compost pile but rather by spreading them on the garden as we get them. They are especially fond of banana peals which I eat while I read my paper or doing my crafts. I will through out the peals when I finish then on a different part of the garden. When the garden is warm enough to turn over I will turn over these vegetable scraps so that the worms can more easily get to them. I am also hoping to be able to get enough manure to spread over the garden and peat moss, both of which will help to retain moisture and the manure will also be a way to feed the plants. I believe that organic gardening is a healthier way to eat your vegetables than chemically grown ones. What are these chemicals doing to your body once they are getting in?

The only thing that I planted so far was the potatoes,I will get some more vegies as soon as I get to the store, my mother always waited until April to plant the rest of the garden because Eater would come in April than she would plant after Good Friday,I have never heard of putting left overs out on the garden and I never knew about the worm bveing good for the garden either I will keep that all in mind when I plant next year thank you for your comment Happy Easter

Hello dear sweetaspie. It is a nice time to start your garden to plant on warm days of spring. I wish you would have a fruitful garden later on with a lot of poataoes and other plants you plant though I do not have a garden of mine. Happy planting.

You should be putting worms INTO your garden, not taking them out!! They're the gardener's friends! Lucky you having some lovely weather to get out there. We've been stuck indoors today when we wanted to be working, though thankfully we did allot last week. I have my potatoes in and my beans. All the ground is prepared for the new veg and the support trellis are all in place. All I need now are some more seedlings :-)
