Is there anyone who knows about defrosting salmon in a microwave-owen? Is it harmful for the taste maybe? Or does it make the consistence bad?

Yes, but it will compromise the quality of the fish. Salmon is one fish that really is best thawed out slowly under refrigeration. Microwaving or even running under cool water will work but will more than likely give the meat a "gummy" texture ( it will kind of stick to your teeth while chewing). It is safe to thaw it those ways though but under no circumstance should you ever thaw Salmon out at room temperature. The bacteria count can go ballistic within a couple of hours. Enjoy your meal....

Thanks so much for the response! :) In the recepie it says that it should be thawed in room-temperature. What do you think about that? It's smoked(? - I'm not sure it is the right term in english) salmon - is there a difference then?
