I am a jerk, and tonight I have to tell my husband

A couple weeks ago I was a little short on the bills - so I wrote myself a check - (our joint account is at a different bank than our individual accts) thinking it would keep the bills from falling behind, and I would pay myself back this week when we got paid - I have done it before, though it is a last resort --- BANK FRAUD never crossed my mind. Today my new bank card showed up - I had ordered a new one since mine was shot - when I called to activate it they told me there was a problem and I need to speak with my local branch. So I called the local branch, to find out- CLOSED all of our accounts - both of us. I can't help you - I was told. I understand - I screwed up - but, now I have to tell my husband that they closed his account too. I am not looking forward to that conversation. I needed to vent a little, I have the shakes and I still have 4 hours to wait until he gets home. Thanks for listening - or reading.

This can happen to any one. You cant blame yourself for this. Just tell this to your husband and i am sure that he will understand. He may get angry in the begining but he will surely get over this. These are minor difficulties in life. This is nothing. Life is a lot harder. Dont worry you can always open new accounts. These troubles are temperory. The main thing is to enjoy your life. Life is short and we should make it sweet. Relax. Have a good life.

I can't think that it was your fault that the account is closed..Unless they told you it was..There must be some misunderstanding in all this...I would have thought you would have received a notice as to what they were going to do first before they actually closed it...
I don't know your husband but you shouldn't worry about telling him..I can understand how you feel but it can't be that bad...Don't get all upset because that won't help...
I am sure there is a logical reason for all of this and that it should work itself out...Hugs to you....

Writing bad checks to yourself is called kiting - and is bank fraud. That is why our accounts were closed. I know he will be very upset with me, because it was my fault. It isn't going to be the end of the world, but I hate to have to explain to my husband that I'm an idiot. Thank you for your response and support.

I have done something similar to keep bills from falling behind but you have to be sure to be able to pay yourself back by a certain time or you will get your self in trouble. I am sure your husband is going to understand and not get bent out of shapeif he loves you enough.
