We wash our own dishes everyday right? But what about our pets'. :0
Until recently, I never realized how messy my dog is at dinner time. I lifted up his dinner dish to find yuckyyy old old old food crusted all around the bottom edges.
I cleaned it spotless, and now on I clean both my pets' dishes at least once a week. xD

Once I saw what yucky stuff was on the water dish after a couple days (about five years ago) I wash it and the food dishes every day!
I eat on clean dishes, so should they.

I clean it once a week. I just got him a new food bowl, so he isn't as sloppy. lol
He eats more now, the dish is larger, so he thinks he has to have more food.

Eek! We clean our cats' dishes/bowls every day. At least they are put into the dishwasher after single use. We try to be as clean as possible with them. It is dangerous, I think to drink or eat out of the same bowl more than once. And also, even if it is the same, day, if food has been in there for for a couple of hours, exposed to the air, it can get dirty. So, their dishes go into the dishwasher along with our human dishes. :o)

Oh my gosh that happened to me yesterday. I always forget about the food dish. I'm always so concerned with the water bowl. It's once a week for me now as well!

I have a cat who eats dry food, I wash the dish when the big bag of dry food is finished, that can take a week and a half

If I remember, I wash it when it looks like it needs it..But I know I should wash it more often.. But, with the dog being so new, I am not up to par on cleaning her dish yet.

I change my fur babies bowls once week for clean ones. However, I'll rinse them out every day with water and a paper towel to get out all the left overs so it won't be nasty with the next day's dinner time. My animals get fresh water twice a day every day and they all get fed at the same time every day which is 5:30 in the afternoon.

I don't wash them out ever. My dalmation licks both bowls clean after the other dog is done it seems and they don't get very messy. I feed them dry dog food 4 days a week and wet/dry mix the other 3 days. It is actually healthier for dogs to eat good quality dry dog food over other options, at least that is what a vet told me.

When I had my cats I had to wash them out every day, if I forgot they would be full of little maggot things within a few hours, it was disgusting so I made sure it was done everyday.

I was the dogs good and water bowl every day. He gets fed every morning and every night so when I do the dishes I automatically just wash his bowls while I am doing the dishes.
