You never know what you've gotten yourself into with that kind of relationship. Over digital communication devices, someone can present themselves in any way that they choose. You don't know a person until you meet face to face, and even then you can go years without knowing the little details about someone. With that type of relationship, your physical and emotional safety must be a priority.

I have never been to this type of relationship. i can't say any relationship. but i have heard people in these types of relationship. I think those people should have great trust in continuing with a person not seen. But one should at least see the person once.

i'm not against people involved with this kind of relationship but personally, i can't see myself engaging with relationship via phone/text/email/chats.. because you can never be too sure with a person that you have never met.. if one feels that their relationship is, errr, real, then they should take it to the next level, like meet up or something.. coz some people behave differently face to face..

met my husband in an aol chat room, introduced by another friend i had online. while i dont advise jumping into things hurriedly, thats pretty much what we did. but our relationship isnt the "norm" by any means, even now. we started talking on the phone the night we met in aol.. and the conversation didnt end. 5 days later he moved in with me. 9 years later, we have a beautiful 7 year old daughter and are even more in love now, than we were when we were still just online. the friend who introduced us? moved from texas to massachusetts to be nearer to us, and the guy i introduced her to online. shes now the godmother of my daughter, and her and the guy just bought a house together. it happens. love is love, doesnt really matter where you are when it finds you. only advice i can offer, listen to your heart.. and follow it.
