The Star's by our name

I know the star by our name is for our reputation. How ofter do you check your reputation? I only checked it once the other day when I found out about the stars and what they ment. lol
I am wondering how do you give a rep?
I mean do you click on something for that person or is is automatically done by mylot for all the responses, etc?
I don't understand it, I am 99/100 in reps and I am so happy about that. 
It means a lot to me, but I would like to be able to give a rep to several people if I can. I just don't know how. 
Can someone please tell me?

dnbuster, hang in there. You will get your star once you get to 100 posts. Then the star has a number in it. You want a 10 in your star, that's the best. You also want a blue star. Again the best.
How do I achieve this, you might ask. By responding with quality answers, not just one or two words. Just let the words flow through your fingers to the keyboard and you will be surprised how fun and easy it is.

Well sweety i don't check that often but anytime I have it has been in the high 90's - not sure I would notice if it changed! lol You get your rep by other people rating your discussions with either a +or a - , mylot works it out from there! I can't even tell you what I am right now! xxx

It is also based on how we post, as the admin say it's all about quality!
We are also rated by others via these icons, positive (+) and negative (-) which are located on the right side of every post. The exclamation point (!), is used for reporting a post that violates the guidelines.
