What I'd like to know is; why have more thsan two children in this economic and environmental slump we're in? By the time new children turn 30, there will be 48% less energy resources, and unless we solve the global warming crisis, about 23% less food sources. I wish people would think before just popping out children because of emotional reasons, or out of family/religious traditions.
It was estimated that a new children on average will cost more than 2.5 million in resources to educate, feed, and maintain, according a several economists studies, and that only 3 out of 7 will hold careers, that pay over 50k yearly. The rest will be lower income workers/ Also, with jobs leaving overseas to exploit under educated foreign workers, (thank you WalMart), the strain on our resources will be strenuous. We're already headed for a WalMart economy, according to some in the financial world, a societe of lower class workes, uneducated, and most likely to not have full health benefits.
You should consider all these things, and not have children, just because of tradition, or because your parents desired to be "Grandma and Grandad" for so long. You should consider all the aspects first. And for those of you who think that having seven or more children os a great feat? Well a sow can have tweny at a time, but we don't give that great cause for celebration, now do we? And of course, we'll just have the ham, bacon, and pork chops later.
