I like to blow off steam by shadow boxing or going for a bike ride, you know something that takes a lot of energy.

Of the many ways I deal with anger, the most used method would be writing in a journal. Journals can be a convenient and effective way of calming an angry or restless mind. Utilize it as if it were an outlet to pour your subconscious and conscious thoughts into, so that they can be looked at in retrospect, and consequently from a perspective that is out of the 'eye of the beholder'. When writing, simply write every thought you have, and it is critical to never cross anything out or correct yourself by eliminating what you've written. Consider what you write to be set in stone, correct yourself only in the following sentence. Then, look back on what you've written and you can make some highly therapeutic realizations about whatever dilemma you may be caught up in.

When I am angry I listen to heavy metal music. Something about the guitars and the drums drive the anger right out of me. I wish that I could play the drums, that would be what I would do when I was angry. I have a friend that plays the drums very well, and I told him one time that I wished that I could beat the hell out of some drums and actually have it sound like something.
