My little baby brother has this device were he is being placed and he can start walking all over securely (Since he cannot walk yet). This device has wheel on all sides and also bumbers on all sides. But my question now is, if it really helps him or babies in general to develop walking skills faster than without this device.

Walkers help babies to start to have a "feel" in walking. These help them learn to balance their bodies, help prevent bad falls like head concussions until they can walk alone, unaided. My 2 kids never used this though. Their nanny insisted on putting a towel around their torso, below their armpits and held on to this while the baby ambled with the significant "first steps."

What it will do is give him the sense that moving his legs in a certain motion will get him from one point to another. The bumbers and such will protect him from getting hurt while learning this. Once they get that need for moving forward upright then they will want to experiment even more which is found to help them start walking on their own.

I don't like the sound of this at all....babies should not be forced to walk, nature should be left to take it's and the baby should be allowed to walk when he is ready....

It seems like it would help him to develop stronger leg muscles so that he'll be able to support his weight on his own. It kind of seems similar to training wheels for learning how to ride a bike.

I dont think really they are any good my health visitor also told me that they can make the baby walk on its tip toes which would then become a habit and this alone brings problems its self, my daughters did use them now and again mostly to sit in though and it made no difference to the speed they walked
