My husband and I just bought a house, and the owners before us didn't do much to it besides rip up the yard and put screw holes in the walls, then tear them out (literally!) We are just starting out so we don't have a ton of money as of yet. I plan on doing a ton of yard work this year (while being pregnant) but doing as much as I can. Are there any tips for doing so without having to spend a ton of money? I know people say "seeds!" its cheap. but it takes forever! I want it a little quicker, but maybe I won't be able to, we'll see.. Next is. Our house, has hardly any decorations, a few pictures here and there, but thats it. plain walls, they are colored but theres only 2 colors in the house we bought, Yellow and Tan. and I don't like EITHER of those 2 colors. Its not a priority* to paint the walls this year but I wish we could! We need privacy to our yard, as we live on the corner and we have a few nosey neighbors already. There is no fence. Any tips for home making would be great!

There's a lot you can do on a budget. I won't list specifics because I don't know what look you want, but check out places online like HGTV.com and some of the home improvement places (I know Lowes has a good site), and maybe Good Housekeeping. You should be able to find all sorts of projects to do on the cheap. Good luck!

I don't know what to tell you about fertilizing the yard. That won't take long etc. Only thing I know about that is to get some grass pads. I don't know the cost of it or anything so that is something you are going to have to look into. For your house. Go to hardware stores and local paint stores. Sometimes they do have some great prices and sales on things. You can pick up wallpaper if you like as well. Check into that. As for the screws that were in the walls and the couple before you ripped them out. Get some putty. It usually is reasonably priced. As well if you are doing it this way you will need to sand them out smooth on this one. So the paint would be essential as well. As for the pictures. Go to garage/yard sales, rummage sales, thrift stores. You can sure pick up some great stuff for a good price. As well if you have dollar stores you can pick up some good stuff as well. If you are looking for tools that you might need dollar stores is another good place to get these things. On one of our walls I went to the dollar store and grabbed a ton of frames. I love taking pictures as well so that helped in that department. I covered one wall in family and friends etc. Stuff that I like to show people. If you like drawing you can do a feature wall with a huge drawing of some sort. With the fencing around the yard. Again look at your hardware stores and price out the cost of wood etc. If you can't do this on your own yes it will cost more than doing it yourself to hire a contractor. Measure out the property etc and go from there. With the fencing. This year I wouldn't suggest painting it but do it with a stain. Hope this helps you out. Good Luck.
