Ok, when you are in the bathroom, otherwise known as your reading room, what do you like to read.
I personally find that the articles in the reader's digest are just about the right length for an average visit to the reading room, And the humor and joke pages can't be beat for a short visit.
So what do you read when you are multitasking in that necessary room? Or do you have another activity.

Do you find this more inspirational? I often get craft ideas while I am driving. Never thought of putting the magazines in the bathroom.

I usually like to take the tv pages in with me when I go into the bathroom to check out what's on in the evening, any good films and what is happening in tonights episode of my favourite soap! Plenty of time to browse it to make sure I don't miss something good!

I no longer buy a newspaper, it is not in the budget. I just look for TV shows I like on the guide on tv or online.
But it is good to know that you are multitasking and making good use of this time.

maybe i am one of those few who does not read inside the conference room while i am doing my thing. that is the best time for me to think and not read. if i am going to read i usually do it in bed , not before going to sleep but to just read and concentrate on it.

That is funny that you should say that, when I worked as a programmer I solved many problems while in the bathroom. It was a pretty good place to think.
But at home, I prefer reading.

Personally, I can't think of a better place to read the enquirer unless it is while I am in line at the grocery store.

I think if I had word search or crossword puzzles I would never be able to get out. I am too compulsive, would have to complete what I started before I left.
Pocket games, that is a nice idea.

its funny that you call it the necessary room. My grandma has a sign on her bathroom door that says that and I remember growing up I thought it was the wierdest thing that a bathroom was called that. Anyways I like to read gossip magazines or whatever happens to be in the magazine rack.

I went to a restaurant many years ago and saw that..I thought it was cute. And for some reason, it popped into my head this morning when I was starting the discussion.
I guess this means that you don't plan your reading material and will read whatever is there.
My son had serious learning disabilities but he decided to give French a try when he was in middle school. In order to try and help him, I would print his vocabulary words in a large font and tape them to the wall across from the toilet. His french teacher thought it was hysterical..but it worked..it brought his grades up from 40's to 70's.

My problem is that I would not be able to leave until I finished a puzzle. For some strange reason, I struggle with most crossword puzzles unless they are of the kind that has pictures instead of words... in other words, I need them to be very simple.

I remember reading a thing about jury duty, and they said when polled most people read Reader's Digest, I am surprised that more people have not mentioned it.

Oh good, I feel better. Most people who would take things so seriously must be constipate. I guess you are not!

Pitstop, you sound like a very serious person. Staying focussed on this could be too stressful, sometimes relaxing a bit may help.

That's one thing I don't do is read in the bathroom. All I do is make sounds of water dripping and a lot of grunting at times.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am a compulsive reader already, so I do that out of habit. This is why I keep reading material in the bathroom, just something else to read.

To be honest I've never read in the bathroom a day in my life while I'm doing my thing...I'm pretty quick so it's in an out for me.

Well I do make up for it and give myself a time out when I take my bath every night..then I bathe by candlelight and have incense burning...so that's my time to de-stress

Uncle John's Bathroom Readers! They are a great series of books, short bits on all kinds of subjects, some funny, some serious, all interesting. We have one in each bathroom. Of course I pretty much only get to read in there if I go after my daughter is asleep! :) I have been known to take a magazine to the bathroom with me at work if I think I'm going to be there more than a minute or two. Or a catalog, frequently it's just the right amount of time to flip through a small catalog!

MMMM Uncle John's bathroom readers - I must look into those. Catalogs - that is not a bad idea, as long as I don't take a pen and start ordering. I would never take a magazine at work, I know I would be in there way to long

The biffy..that is a new one. Someone else mentioned catalogues as well. I guess you could knock off your Christmas shopping without leaving the biffy. How much more efficient could you be?

I have a selection of womens magazines in my bathroom, and i sit and read through them whilst in there. sometimes i escape to the loo to read for a while just to get away from the children for a few minutes, altho my daughter follows me now so its not often i get a chance to have a good read lol
