Nowadays, nothing cannot be copied...from designer jeans, bags, shoes, shirts,
CDs, mobile phones just to name a few.
When you buy the original, you are assured of the quality and name despite the high price you have to pay. Get the imitation or counterfeit and well, you get what you paid for.
Are you the type who buys only the original or that type that settles with an exact copy of it for a much cheaper price?
What fake items have you bought?

To begin with, I'm not really a "brand conscious" person. If i do like a product, it's because of how it is and not just because of the name. I must admit though, that I'm the type of person who would settle in buying fakes than the originals. Hey, there are some fake items that aren't really that bad.
Fake stuff that I have bought? Mostly pirated DVDs. Tsk! Tsk! It really is much cheaper than getting the original one which is way, way, way more expensive. I have also bought an imitation of a branded bag and a couple of fake shoes and shirts. Uh-oh!

well it really depends upon what it is,
if a kitchen product cost 30.00 and I won't pay the knock off that is 10.00 the reason being half of the time they don't work, get broken easily extra,
now lets say the product is a white westinghouse, which is good but quite expensive and there is another brand that sells their product for 25.00 or 22.00, I would take a chance on that and have, there are some pretty good smaller brands out there.
but I don't care if a gucci bag is 1,000 and I find a bag that looks like gucci for 25.00 I will buy it, a bag is a bag to me.

I have a few genuine items in my closet and a lot of nice but unbranded ones. I'm not so conscious about the brand either. I can buy and wear anything even if the brand is not known or its just an imitation. Original items are so expensive but you'll get your money's worth for it. But if you buy all original items, your budget will just cover clothings and none for the other items, not unless if you're earning really much. If I can afford it, I will buy only the original items because its more durable and nicer, otherwise I can settle for the unbranded ones. If you are a good dresser, it's hard to determine if your wearing a genuine or fake one. I believe it'a how you carry or wear your clothes and accessories that gives the clothing a stylish look

- True! Only real experts would be able to know aside from yourself that it's a fake. :)

Its a case to case basis for me. Not all imitations are bad copies so there were times that I am really guilty of buying imitations when they are really good imitations. But most of the time, I opt to buy the original since its proven tried and tested.

I am always brand conscious, especially when it comes to groceries. I will never buy brands I have not heard of before without reasearching them first or seeing a comercial for them. The same goes for cleaning products too. As far as cd's and clothes and other things go there are specail stores I shop at for that stuff, so I always know I getting exactly what i'm paying for.
