How important is the artwork and the verses when you buy a greeting card? I personally prefer to buy blank cards so I can write my thoughts on the card. To my the art work is more important. Do you prefer a blank card? or a card that has verses in it?

I think that I prefer the versed cards.
I can always add a few thoughts of my own if needed.
Most of the time I have problems even thinking
of that small sentiment.
I don't know, sometimes you have to purchase cards
for someone that you really don't want to (I know that
sounds mean, but it is true..obligation)and then I just
pick up a simple versed card. That saves me from having to stare at a blank card for hours not knowing what to write.
Okay, I was just kidding about the hours thing..lol

Oh..oops, I meant to add...No, I don't care much about the artwork
because usually if you find a really beautiful crafted
card, the verse usually doesn't match.
So, I just go for the verse.

Hi Naty, I would rather buy a blank card and write something myself. It really is nice writing your own words, it is so much more personal rather than just sign a card with a verse and mail it out.

The art work is not as important to me as the saying. I prefer to buy a card that is not blank unless it's for a special member of the family or friend. There are times I just can't think of how I want to word things so the already written card helps me out.

I look at the artwork first, then the verse. I don't like verses that are too "mushy", but still want the verse to be meaningful. I'd write my own verses, but can never think of anything to write. Happy birthday, hope your day is good is about all I would come up with unless the person is close family...

I nearly always buy a blank card and add my own message. I also get a lot of cards with handwritten greetings rather than printed messages.
I agree that the art work is important. I like to send and receive cards with real art on them, whether photographs or reproductions or original art.
