Melanoma

Ok, So I went to the dermatologist about a year ago just to get a skin check-up. I thought maybe it would just be dry skin or oily skin or something crazy, even acne. So they saw a mole and decided that it could be cancer and the took a peice and sent it to the lab. It came back later and we found ou that I had malignant melanoma and also a mole that could become melanoma later in life. They said I had 10 YEARS TO LIVE!!! Anyway. I had surgery for it to be removed and I am fine. So the question is...is there anyone you know who has melanoma? What was their experience like and how old were they. The dermatologists office I went to said I was the Youngest they have ever seen at the age of 17.

My grandad has this, he is 74 he has had a few minor operations to remove the moles and some deep tissue below them. He is doing ok but it will most likely keep coming back sadly at his age it is harder because he is frail anyway. I hope you continue to be well and I hope it does not come back for you.
