I know exactly what you mean. I'm 42 and since I turned 35 it seems like every couple of years the doctors find something else wrong with me. I have arthritis in my knees (probably because I've never had a drivers license and have always done a LOT of walking, hence putting a lot of strain on my knee joints) and also in a few of my knuckles. My hair is going grey (about 40% grey now... but sprinkled throughout) etc. But I live my life by the serenity prayer. God Grant me The Serenity to accept the the things I cannot change The Courage to change the things I can AND THE WISDOM TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. I can't do anything about getting old or dying so I ain't gonna stress over it (stressing will only make me age faster anyway LOL). I can do things about my health. All I can really say is live life to the fullest potential you can and don't worry about all the tomorrows :)

I do not fear dying. I feel that I will make it to heaven. If you give your life to christ and try your best to live for him, then you should see him as your king. But when we die we are either going to heaven or Hell. You have to choose which place you want to go to.

I know how you feel. I hate getting older also. I have really noticed over the last few years that my body is changing also and I have also had to pluck out a couple of gray hairs. My body is getting out of shape and my energy comes and goes also. I don't fear dying but I am sure not ready to go yet because I have not reached my goals yet.

I know what you mean...it seems like I used to be able to jump out of bed, throw on some clothes and run. Now I have to sit for a little while and let things wake up...my Mom has to do it every day too. As for what happens to our spirit, I choose to believe it goes back to Heaven to reunite with our family, loved ones and pets that have gone before us. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Everyone of us will get old, i don't want to get old either, but we have no choice, we are like leaves of a trees we fade away. This is the scenario in life that we have no choice but to pull our self through. I think you should atleast feel young in the inside.Still have fun, life is too short. Don't waste time.

i think it's more for me a fear of HOW i am going to pass. will i hurt? will i suffer for long? or will it be instant? i'm praying not instant as that could mean a car wreck, or heart attack perhaps? however, would instant be better? than say a slow cancer that i will not be able to fight, and then will have to plan to die, to say my good-bye's. ouch. would like to be able to say good-bye to all, however, i think that would be so very hard. don't be afraid my dear. just try not to think about it too much, and get as prepared as you can i guess. for us for example, my hubby and i REALLY need to put together a will, and check over our life insurance, for our son's sake, and the whole family's sake. THAT scares me as we haven't done that yet, and WHAT IF...hate the 'what if's' in life.....

Enjoy those wrinkles and signs of old age....they are way better then the alternative. And don't be scared of the act of dying - if it is fast. It is the long, slow painful way that bothers me.

Yes you are sort of right, I am now 65 and I wish I had felt this good at 40, maybe it is the freedom to be me, I don't have to prove to any one any thing. My budget is low but I am able to get all my needs met my wants will maybe get here but I don't worry about it. I can not even begin to tell you that age does give you freedom, I stopped working about wrinkles, sags and bags. they are what makes me , me. And finally I now like myself, I don't mind spending a lot of time alone and not feel left out . I do so hope you gain this freedom from stress and worry and what if"s no one gets out of this life alive and what happens after is not at all scary to me. I used to fear the unknown but now I look forward to any thing new. take care and don't get bent out of shape over something you have no control over. relax and go with the flow

while I do not much relish the things that come along with getting older I reckon that it beats the alternative I would rather get old than die young, you know? I wonder why it is my mind stays as fresh and youthful as it was when it was a teen - (well other than the memory lapses - lol

Personally I don't want to live till I'm very old, I work in a retirement home and a nursing home. It is sad to see these people just sitting and waiting... Also food becomes a big issue when you get old. Many people must have puree food, and there are many different drinks they have for them that are really thick, such as milk necter, juice necter, honey necter, all made to go down easier, and as nourishment for them, you would not believe the amount of different drinks they have for the elderly. Everyday I to find a new wrinkle or something as well. I try to stay upbeat and active, and exercise. I feel if you stop moving, then you give up.
