I do not know how I would feel about it but I feel some sadness within me knowing that our former President is diagnosed to have Colon Cancer. Maybe because I too have a mother stricken by these disease. I pretty well know what would be her ordeal in the coming days when she i bound for chemotherapy. I know her family could well afford the medicines for it but the pain and suffering is really emotionally draining if not financially. I hope the family could cope with it as it will take sometime to fight for these disease.

I don't know what it is about but I've been hearing more and more news on people getting sick with cancer. Is it because they are better at the diagnosis that they actually KNOW it's cancer or is it because there's something in our modern environment/equipment/household utilities that is triggering more and more of such illness? Within my family, there are a couple of cancer stricken members. It's a very sad news to hear, especially knowing that there's no available treatment for it - at least not for the uber wealthy.
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Well I guess its the environment we're living that is at fault why there is a resurgence of that disease. Although cancer has been with us for a time but only now that we are able to truly identify the root cause of the disease. The development for its cure is really advancing as our technology is advancing as well.

Colon cancer's a rather tough kind. I feel sorry for the former president. I admire her and the ideals which she carries. Now that she is not well, I believe that we should pray for her complete recovery, and pray too that our nation will unite at her back in support to her. She's an inspirational leader. Not at her limelight, it's time to carry on the inspiration we received from her.

I heard about this too. I was shocked at first hearing that it was rather serious. I guess news like this always surprises us. i have always seen how energetic she was and having such sickness is actually far from reality...
But it happened. I guess we can all just pray for her recovery and for her to have a long life and get through this challenge in her life.

I also felt sad about it Yesterday I watch Nonoy and Cris making announcement about their sick mother and asking to stop telling bad things about their mother. Yes they are well afforded the medicine but the emotional pains is very hard to ease. I know how they feel I'm also a daughter but as I can see their mother she is strong enough to over come all this trial. She is a strong lady she will going to fight for it. She is also giving this all to our God up high. Enjoy posting!!!!!

Yup I know they would be able to carry on with their financial resources they could definitely afford such. What is unbearable is the emotional side of things especially when she undergoes the chemotherapy. That is such a very distraughtly sight seeing your mother going weaker by the day.

I am also shocked and saddened when I learned the news on TV. Former President Aquino is the symbol of democracy in our country and honestly part of what the Filipinos' democracy now is because of what she did during the 1986 EDSA Revolution. I agree that they would not have a problem financially but emotions wise that would be difficult for them. But knowing Pres. Cory Aquino, she has strong faith in God, and quoting her from ABS-CBN news website 'Everything is according to God's will' .

Well at this point in time of her life it is really her faith with God that would really save her from all of these trials. The medical intervention may just prolong her life but its only God that will grant her to be healed from these disease as we have no known cure for this disease but miracle.

I was on the verge of crying yesterday listening to Kris' statement because my grandmother had just suffered from stroke so I know how emotionally draining to have a sick mom or grandmom. MOney is not a problem for them but it was really unfortunate that Kris lost her third child though I am not sure if it was because the former president's condition.

As I have watched her in TV, as they went to church with kris, she seems not troubled of this diagnosis, maybe she just kept the hurt inside her for the benefits of the public who trusted her and image her as the country's former mother. Lets just hope and pray that her family, especially Madam Cory, to get over this kind predicament.

I guess its really like that when a person is diagnosed to have such disease they try their best not to look weak but I know it hurts emotionally and later on physically. I lived with a mom who is suffering the same fate as she is. And that is indeed very painful emotionally, financially and physically.

Yes that is just sad news for the family. I heard that even mayor Lim shed some tears when he was interviewed over the news. Also, Senator Drilon also was deeply affected as she was the one that has supported her when her wife then was suffering from the same disease. I am in no way close to them but I do not know why I feel for them too. Maybe because I am a victim of this disease too.
