Since the 2008 Beijing olympics is coming soon,I do want to do a survey concerning your impression of China. If you have never been here, then what is China like in your imagination?
You can tell your idea here no matter it's of high reputation or not.
Thanks!

I've never been to mainland-China but in what I see it in films, i imagine it to be really crowded and busy. But also on the other hand its got good sights of mountains, and other sceneries. I want to go to Beijing for the olympics though! I want to watch my cousin christel simms swim for Philippines! I'm so proud of her! =]

Until recently, I have been very optimistic about not the Beijing olympics but recently I saw a lot of smoke there and now am worried about the health of athletes.

my hubbys sister and brother in law have been there twice (to adopt 2 baby girls) and i think there is a lot of hypocricy in china. they are trying to show the world how good they are while they abuse their own people.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/3993857.stm here is just one example and if you go to tianamen square in bejing, the officials deny that anything happend (meaning the uprising iin the 80's where numerous people were killed).

I feel that they can do a great job for Olympics (just don't concern about the international politics conflicts)
Cheers.
