The cross stitching that i do are all Winnie the Pooh, not sure why. I got given one as a present and have stuck with Winnie the Pooh since, i only do cross stitch kits. I dont buy books and do patterns/pictures from.
Which do you prefer books or stitching kits?
Have you ever completed any and sold them?? Do you buy kits and sell them on?
How did you get into cross stitching??

Hello cinderella2007. I like to do animals, people and flowers. I prefer cross stitch kits. Honestly, I never did completed any one of them because there are always mistakes on them that I feel lazy to finish. I got into cross stitching when we had a project in high school about cross stitching. I then chose a girl ballerina dressed in a purple outfit because I think the picture is beautiful and my favorite color then is purple. I got addicted to it and started buying more designs although I couldnt finish the past ones.

I guess you're right. No one will know if I had a mistake. Thanks for that :). Yes, indeed thats why I chose it. Thanks again.

Im glad that you are into cross stitching but it is a shame that you dont finish them because there are mistakes on them, it doesn't matter as once it is complete it will blend in with the whole picture and people who dont know its there wont be able to pick out your mistakes unless you tell them what mistakes they are looking for. I know when I make a mistake I still complete the project as it has a very good satisfaction feeling knowing that it is completed and looking at the completed picture after feels real good.
Your girl ballerina in a purple dress sounds fab!!

I definitely prefer kits over pattern books because it's less of a hassle but the last time I bought any kits, I had to move and leave them with my ex - bad idea coz he trash them ALL! Including this lovely one I was doing with dolphins.
Anyway, I haven't been into cross stitching for a while but just a few days back, I bought two "No Count" kits from ebay - birds and sunflowers. I am hoping to get them soon because the walls of this apartment are just too bare! =.=
How did I get into all this? My mum. She used to do cross stitch for her pillows, drawer covers and etc. I guess it rubbed off on me. ^.^

Gutted that your ex threw them away!! You will have to try and find another dolphin one to do. Once you have completed your birds and sunflower cross stitch, you will have to post a pic on here!! I started when I was young, think we saw some in the Avon catalogue when my mum did Avon many years ago. They were always the 'My First Cross Stitch kits' though.
Hope you get to do your cross stitchings soon x

My cross stitch designs vary from flowers to anything with music to my favorite animals. Most of my works are relating to nature. Like you I also do cross stitch kits only. So far I have completed almost 20 designs with varying sizes.
I think your collection of Winnie the Pooh cross stitches is lovely. I'm thinking to do the same, you know stick to one theme only, maybe flowers and animals.
Presently I am finishing a two separate flowers of same size but different designs. And after this I want to make a big one like 1 1/2 yards long and 1/2 yard wide.
I also want to cross stitch my picture and my boyfriend's but it's a little difficult making the pattern by myself. I can't seem to get the right tone for each shade. Well, hopefully I will very soon.

I've started to cross stitch several patterns but only managed to finish three of them. One is my high school project (Earth Dancer pattern), it is required to be submitted that's why I managed to finish it I guess. The other two are really small. I've got three other patterns that are half way done but I can't find some needed threads that's why I've stopped doing it for a while but I'm still planning to continue it in the near future. The patterns are "The Dawn", "The Kiss" and "Maritime Scene".

As a kid my mom and my aunt got me into cross stiching but I didn't stick with it very long. Now I have gotten back into it as I have a back injury and it calms and soothes my nerves. My nerves are pretty much shot right now and if it helps I will continue doing it. I do everything and anything. My mom always picks me up different books as I have done pretty much all of them that I have. Anything from jar lids, to huge pictures. I have sold them in my moms craft sales as I have no where to put them as well as I have no use for all of them. I also give them away as gifts etc. If I know they like that particular one I have no problem with giving them away. I go towards the books more than the kits. Just something that I find more thinking and more critical than a kit.
