I just can't bear it anymore. My hair keeps falling at such a high rate, I will not be surprised if I am bald in 6 months. My hair is such everywhere.... on my clothes, on the bed, on the floor, in the bathroom and it is becoming so annoying that my husband is so furious I am not doing anything about it. I am doing my best I can. Can anybody suggest something I can do for hair loss. I can't afford to spend money on a doctor right now. Any suggestions?

I think for a start you should not use harsh shampoos like anti dandruff and most commercial 2 in 1 shampoos. If you need conditioner, just use shampoo and conditioner seperately. Studies have shown that these shampoos does have adverse effects to certain users and in extreme cases has caused a great deal of hair loss. Eating instant noodles frequently is also another reason as the seasoning has some ingredients that triggers off this problem. I have witnessed this with some of my peers during younger days who has been literally eating these noodles daily for months. Once they changed their diet and with some medication from hair specialist, was their problem resolved. Also, try not to have too much MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) in your food. MSG is a flavour enhancer agent used in most prepared foods of restaurants and food processors. This is very highly likely to be found in instant noodle seasonings, restaurants, instant soup preparation packs and etc. You may also have certain reaction to recent medication and/or health supplement and you may need a specialist to have it checked out. There should be no guess work here. Dyeing of hair and highlighting, and bleaching are also known causes for hair loss. So do be careful and if you are planning to have one, then I would suggest to take a rain check for this. Swimming, too much exposure to the chlorine found in swimming pools can also be another factor. So if you are swimming often then you will need to have those special swimming shampoos to help you get rid of the harsh chlorine and you will need to get yourself a tube of Wellaform cream to apply after your shampoo. In the meantime, I suggest that you get yourself some commercial hair tonic and apply it everytime after you have shampooed your hair. In all, these are some of the suggestions I can offer and think of but much will have to be supported with a visit to your local hair specialist to determine more accurately the causes of this problem.

Try and see if you can find the brand NERIL for your hair tonic as I have some friends who are using it with success. Of course, seeing a specialist is a definite must as you had mention quite a number of things you do not to your hair and stress. So, do make a visit soon.

Have you gone to a doctor to see what is going on? If you are losing that much hair maybe there is something medically wrong. I know that you lose 100 strands a day but I think I am losing more than 100 a day as well. Mind you mine isn't that bad but I have noticed over the last few years mine is falling out more and more and my hair is becoming thin and very fine. I would suggest first going to the doctor and asking them what is up and ask them for some tips as they are probably more educated than us in this department. Good luck to you and let us know tips or anything.

Looks like maybe 200 a day!! or even more... because I get atleast one strand of hair in some where once every few minutes. And yes, it is becoming thinner. Right now, money is tight and so, have to postpone the visit to the doctor for some weeks.

My granny used to put baby oil on my grandfathers head. It did help. Maybe try that but like do it in a treatment affect. Like do it one night put something over your head and keep it on for the night then wash it really good in the morning. Try that every second night and see if it helps minimize the hair loss.

At the moment if you aren't taking any vitamins I highly suggest you take them.. Drinking alot of milk will help as well.. Also using a shampoo can make a difference as well.. I use to use a cheap shampoo I believe it was head and shoulders than I changed to another with stronger formula to make my hair stronger... Yes I did have the same problem as well, but it wasn't coming out in clumps... I do believe my cousin had this problem as well and she ended up having to go to the doctor and they gave her a prescription as well to help her with her hair loss and it helped.. sometimes we have make exceptions in order to find the right treatments.. I hope this helps some...

Do not apply plenty of oil everyday. Before taking a head bath, massage your scalp very very gently with a bit of warm coconut oil. AFter that , allow it to saok for some time and then you can shampoo it.You can also use fenugreek paste[soak and grind this' ] and wash your hair. You can add curds and besan flour if there is dandruff. If there is some sort of mental stress this would also result in hair loss. Are there split ends/In that case cut one inch of the length and see that there are no split ends.Consume dates, and food that is rich in iron content. I see I have replied to a 3 month old discussion topic-has the situation become better now?

Thanks for the tip! This discussion was started before my in-laws joined us here. Now my MIL sees that I take good care of my hair. She also recommended the fenugreek seeds. I found that I have a lot of dandruff.... all out of nowhere suddenly. So, now she applies lemon juice and coconut oil paste once a week, then gingelly oil once a week for the hair. Although the falling hasn't completely stopped yet, it is better than when I started this discussion. I shall try the curds and besan flour also for the dandruff. Even if you have replied late, the advice still works!! So thanks a lot.

I have my own share of falling hair. At one point, my hair were really sensitive that even if i would lightly touch some hair would fall. I could see fallen hair everywhere in the house. There were hair on the floor, bathroom, bed and everywhere else. But when i started taking Vitamin E supplements, my hair were shiny and healthy looking. Cutting your hair if help also. Try using shampoo that ate intended for falling hair or use a baby shampoo because they are milder than other shampoos.

It's really important that you do see a doctor, in spite of the costs associated. It could be a sign of a thyroid problem. It probably won't get any better without treatment.

from what i read most woman hair loss is cause by lack of certain mineral or vitamin. and i discovered that most article said that it is easier for a women to treat hair problem compared to man if he has hair loss problem. i suggest you ask your doctor about what vitamin or mineral or supplement that you should take in order to solve your problem. good luck.

Is it coming out in patches or generally all over? I had something wrong with me and few years ago and was diagnosed. It really depends on where its coming out at. I was given a prescription. Comment me back and give me details.

No, I don't think it falls in patches because I have a little longer than shoulder length hair. And it takes atleast 5 minutes for me to clean up the hair on my clothes and floor after I comb(apart from the hair on my comb).

Try to discard other factors like the season of the year (september in the north and march in the south) or a hormonal issue. Or maybe you are not eating right.

You could try taking vitamins, because the hair is nourished by the blood supply and what we put into our bodies affects the hair. You might want to seek professional help because that could be an indication that something not good is going on inside your body.
