They say that we should drink a minimum of 8-8oz glasses of water a day to keep our body hydrated as 80-90% of our body contains water. Yes, water has many uses and brings a lot of health benefits.
I try to drink to reach 8 glasses a day but I forget to reach 8 when Im so busy. But when Im sick, I try to drink much more as they say, it flushes out toxins from the body. Also, when im into sports or exercising, I try to drink more. So are you able to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day?

Not that many at all gabrielle. Can't seem to drink more than one or two glasses each day. I use to drink a lot when I played sports but stopped playing a few years ago. Once I get back into my walking again when the weather picks up, no doubt I'll be drinking a lot more than usual ;)

Hi Maddy! Well I guess the cold weather there is kleeping you from drinking more water than you should but I also guess that you are getting your water from juices and other drinks you are taking. Or else with only two glasses at msot a day? Dont you feel dehydrated? Have a nice day!

Well I do, sometimes more than the usual. Especially these days, it's summer here in my place and just can't bare too much heat. It is indeed recommended, that we should take 8 glasses of water a day..
Sometimes, I also buy some fruits and turn them into fresh juices. Coconut is the best here since it replenishes water contents in our body, I also make melon and some fresh mango juice as well..

HI Raijin. Yes, summer is coming up also in our place and I tend to drink more water also and just drink when I feel thirsty and my mouth runs dry. Yes its a cool idea to drinnk fruit juices and a healthy one too. I also drink coconut water as its very refreshing with lots of nutrients and really takes the thirst away.

hi gabrielle47, i agree with you that it is really important for a person to maintain their water intake level. As a healthy sporty teenager, I could say that i usually drink more that a liter of water a day. Since that it keeps me going the whole day and it helps my body to relax instead of drinking sodas or other unhealthy beverages.

Hi Babykeka. Nice to know of your coming baby and sure do at your state that you need more water than you were single. Well yes, most of us are stubborn and sometime I do not drink that much either. Good luck to you and wish you have a healthy baby!

I try to drink like 3 or more litres a day. I used to get really bad headaches at night and drinking alot of water helped hydrate me and as you said flush out my body. so drink as much as you can! maybe put bottles of it in the fridge and aim to get through them in a day.

I used to be the worst person when it came to drinking water. If it didn't have any flavour I just didn't drink it. But now that I am dieting I finally realize the benefits of drinking lots of water. I need it to clean out my system. I need it to moisturize my skin. I just need it. And I drink lots of it now, and I have noticed such a difference in my skin. I also know it has helped me a lot to lose weight. So I now drink about 10 glasses of water a day and I feel so much better, physically and emotionaly since it helps me to lose weight.

I drank a lot of water while I was pregnant. Way more than the recommended eight ounces. But since I had my little one I have fallen into old habits. I drink about half of that and sometimes less. I know it's great for my body but I just never seem to drink enough. Its weird how we can kind of shy away from things that are really good for us. Great discussion, I liked it.

You may need more than 8 glasses if you are detoxing. Our soil and water are so depleted today that it is hard to get enough minerals in the water and food this is why I supplement to learn more go to this website at

I have been told to drink 8 per day. However at one point when I was young, I was drinking 20-25 per day.Somebody told me to drink more water to clean pimples. I know that was stupid of me to follow wht he told. I started to get sick. My doctor told me that I was drinking too much water and saturating the fluids in my system. This lead to a low amount of vitamins. He had me start to take a multivitamin everyday and lower it to 8-10.
Even all diet websites recommends 8 per day.

I don't always drink the eight recommended glasses per day but I'm trying to make myself drink more water than what I was doing. I don't like water to be honest but I make myself drink it anyway because I know it is better for me than diet drinks and other soft drinks. I am a diabetic so I like to take a bottle of water and add one of the "to go" flavored drinks that you can get to make the water taste better. Yesterday I bought a package that is sugar free raspberry. It is very good!! :)

Hello! I agree with you that its hard to keep track of how much water you are drinking. I tend to buy the big bottles of water where I can keep track of the ounces and that way I'm able to keep track. I usually drink about 80 oz of water per day which is what my doctor recommended to help my weight loss program. I've continued the habit since I lost all the weight and you do feel so much better after a while. So I raise my bottle (of water) to you! Cheers!

If I'm cleaning or doing some harder labor like work, I will make sure I take breaks to drink water.
