How much money do you make per new discussion and when you answer one?

Well, there is no set amount that you make. Mylot pays for quality discussions being posted and quality responses. Quality has been determined as more than 3 sentences for a good quality post or response, so I've always followed that guideline and I make about .50 to a dollar a day for an hour or so on mylot. I'm not sure but I had to be at least a cent or more, when you reply on here. I think you get more for starting discussion etc.
