Why Cancer here in the carribeen

I am just newly in the caribbean but one thing that marvous me is the rate of Cancer cases,pls could anyone help explain to me how i can even avoid it here or atleast tell me the prevention method

Well ... the Caribbean does fall in the Tropic of Cancer.
