Sorry I've been MIA

Sorry I've been MIA the last few days or so. My sister in law died last Thursday night. She's been sick for nearly 20 years. When she was 14 she had a brain tumor removed and she's not been quite herself or healthy since. These last few years she's been really bad. In and out of hospital and there have been several times that the doctors gave her hours to live. Everybody got to say there goodbyes though we aren't sure she was really conscious. My hubby had grown apart from her since she turned 18 (he's the youngest of 4 - she's the second oldest). He's had trouble sleeping but other than that he's doing good. The sister I'm closest too and his mother is not doing that great. Well they're getting better but it's been rough on them. I helped out the best I could. I made breakfast and lunch on Friday and then we ordered pizza for dinner. I also bought the donuts for Saturday morning. Then for lunch Saturday we made hot dogs - something in expensive since they're is so many of us. They opted to cremate her because all the rest of us wants to be cremated. We said goodbye again Saturday morning - which was really hard. I wasn't close to her but I love his mom so much and his other sisters (esp the one I mentioned above) that it was rough. Tomorrow the sister I'm closet to, her hubby, and my hubby and I are going to go pick up her ashes and take them to my mother in law. We didn't want her to have to go and for a stranger to give them to her. Well I just wanted everyone to know where I'd gone off to :)

Such a sad time and also a great release and a relief. The strain of all these years caring for your sister -in-law will come to a head now and then, soon, hopefully, your hubby's family will be able to relax. I've always thought it must be a terrible strain to have someone ill in the family who needs constant care. You don't think your contributions are much but let me assure you they mean a lot. I hope everyone can put this behind them soon and turn the next corner of their life. Blessed be.

Yes me too. Well she didn't need constant care from us. She lived on her own but she was constantly in and out of hospitals. Thank you so much - for everything!

Oh, Gnostic I'm so sorry to hear this, and it's understandable that you've been MIA..At least you know, and your hubby's family knows that she no longer is in pain...20 years is a long time to have a continual illness. My prayers go out to all of you (((hugs)))

Thanks :) *hugs* Yeah I'm kind of relieved that she's no longer having to go through this. I know that kind of sounds bad but I hate that she had to go through all that she did.

My condolences to you and your family. I am very sorry for your loss. She was already unwell, and it was her time to go. I wish you all the best in the future. Things will eventually fall into place, but right now is a time to let everyone greive. My God bless each and everyone of you. My prayers are with you.
