Not very happy about this in office :(

I am not very happy about some career related things in my company. it is keeping me sad. There is something called band change in our company. I came to know we are eligible for it after 1.5 year. I am almost 2 years here. I have prior experience also. still they have not considered me for it.
I think it is not at all justified. I am cheated.
Today i had a talk with manager. he says the other manager has to recommend. when i contacted this manger, he says that he does not have idea about my exp and all. I am so sad and think no way other than changing the job.

go back to the first manager and say this is unfair, that somebody should look into your record and see, why are you penalized for what somebody doesn't know,
and then go to human resources,
do you have a union rep to go to?

Oh ya thats really sad.. When did you get to know about this? in my company they keep us updated with all this information and moreover we have to five exams yearly to make us eligible for these appraisals.
You could look for an option to change the company.
for me its ben only 6 months till now and every now and then i keep myself updated with these appraisal informations from my seniors or manager.
i would suggest you to better talk to your manager and ask him for any other opportunity. In my company these job band changes occur in the beginning of the financial year in April. This time i m not eligible and i would have the default appraisal. From next year onwards they would look into my performance and they have some rating on the basis of which they decide the job band change.
i would better suggest you to either talk to your manager or could think of changing the company itself. U hold a good experience as if now

I think this is not right time to switch as IT and all companies are suffering due to fall in economy. Well it's your choice but I recommend you to stick to same job for some 1 year or so.
