Yesterday I went to my hotmail adress to read some emails there i noticed an e-mail saying that if I hadn't forward it to my friends my account would have been closed! Do you think this might come from hotmail administrators or it is more likely spam? And have you recieved it too?

I've gotten one of those last year. I just deleted it and nothing happened lol. It's just a chainletter or something like that.

I believe it was a hoax. back then it happened too. I wonder if you received the similar email content like this article showed:

the best thing you can do is sending the email directly to hotmail provider asking the truth. but usually, when I got similar hoax like it was, I sent it to abuse [at] hotmail.com address to check how they would react.

It really is an obvious hoax. If the hotmail staff were going to contact you, they would do it directly, not through a chain letter. I HATE chain letters.
