well ive heard that most males are left-handed, im a girl, but im left-handed too, i think the first hand that you use to hold a pencil when you were young is the one that determines the hand that you will use to write. im confused though, coz how come the majority are right-handed people when the left hand is the one that comes first,so how come alot of kids chose to hold their pencils using their right hand? i dunno, just a thought that i'd like to add along with this little survey, hehe.so tell me are you a leftie, a rightie, or ambidextous?

Like the majority of the world, I'm a righty. However, I'm more of a right-hemisphere brain.
I looked into why a majority of people were right-handed and came across a Wikipedia page about it.

I am a woman and I am right handed. My mom is left handed and my dad was right handed. My husband is right handed and my daughter is left handed. It seems to be skipping generations.

I think there is a possibility it could be inherited and some of it could be coincidence also. I think alot of it comes from when they are young also as to which hand they fluently choose to use. My daughter can actually use both of her hands very well too but she mainly used her left.

It is strange that you say "the left hand comes first" and you've heard "most males are left-handed".
About 8 to 1, last I heard, right-handedness dominates both sexes. Also, in school, we were always leaned toward using the right hand first. The majority is righty, they teach from the right and they raise righties. Nothing strange about any of it. Left-handedness is SOMETIMES a sign of stubborness, countering what so many people are trying to lean them towards. Other times it's just dumb luck.
Personally, I felt forced to use my right hand more growing up, although I hold my pencil in an unusual way. I can write and throw either hand, but I favor the right given how I was raised.

I'm a rightie, but I've been trying to train myself to be ambidextrous. I've noticed alot of kids hold pencils in their right hands. Strange, but sometimes it just doesn't work because they are true lefties :)

really? they tried to make you write using your right hand? thats odd, why do they need to do that? writing using your left hand is perfectly fine and normal! i never had that experience, thank god. the teachers would really force you? i think the only disadvantage would be writing on an armchair coz most armchairs are designed for right-handed people.
