Welcome to My Lot. I think this discussion should find you many friends. I suggest that you look at some of the member profiles of My lot and then if you think that you like the sound of them put in some friend requests. When you get very good replies to discussions that you have started you could see if these members want to be your friend. Good luck and I hope that you really have a great time on fantastic My lot.

I approach friendships on Mylot the way I do friends in my regular life. In my view to HAVE friends...we need to BE one.
To me courtesy, respect for differences, showing interest..following through and staying in touch are as important on on Mylot as anywhere else. With my friends I send private messages if they are going through a rough time...or pick thoughtful comments and post them in their comment section. I know how much it means to me when friends are there for me...and so I cheer my friends on or offer compassionate support when they are going through a rough patch and I find they do the same with me.
I know for sure that what goes around...comes around. So responding to responses or your site...adding comments to friends sites and checking back and adding to their discussions is what I do.I also make sure to assign best responses and drop back and thank those who gave me theirs. Thanking friends for accepting you friend request is also a nice idea too.
Most of us like to go to sites that post interesting...longer discussions and provide more than one liners...either in their discussions or comments. One liners do not receive any rating at all and the general consensus here is those who make an effort to follow Mylot's suggestion to "be as descriptive as possible' will 'win friends and influence people.' Those who post one liners appear to be here to increase their credits and try to earn money. That is all well and good...but we are all here...and paid for..POSTING AND RESPONDING TO DISCUSSIONS. One liners do not promote that.
So overall my suggestion is to think about how you'd like to be treated here...send that out and you will have it come back to you. Mylotters are a wonderful community of caring people who offer unconditional support and cheering through the ups and downs of life. At least that has been my experience!
Welcome...and hope you enjoy your experiences here.

I agree I think it is the polite thing to do to thank someone for accepting a request, and showing courtesy for others, even if they are not your friend. I think everone should accept the differences in each other. After all if we were all exactly the same it would be a dull world.

I don't think that it is really hard to make friends on this website I mean I have two that are sitting there waiting now and yesterday I got like eight...all you have to do is make alot of post and then mainly that is whenever you will get the most of your friend requestif they like what you have to say because then they figure that they can make a new friend or something like that...I mean that is what I like to do ...and I have alot of friends and have only ask like a few to be my friends...so thats what i do...
