I have a dog his name is Panda (well cause he looks like a panda) I raised him as a puppy and just loves vegetables cooked or uncooked. I'm really wondering since her dad is a German Shepered and her mom is I don't no really hahah. Don't you think that dogs should eat meat rather than vegetables and there ancesters are wolves. Also there teeth are designed to rip, slice etc not to chew.?what happened to them specially my dog who loves vegetables? did they evolve to carnivor to ominvore? thank you=)

My dog loves veg too, and some fruits! But I wouldn't feed her on just those. Dog's need animal protein (meat)to develop properly and to maintain health. Before Dog-foods were invented and readily available most were fed on meat and table scraps, so it's not really surprising that they now eat anything and everything. They have become scavengers, but even in the wild some wild dogs and wolves have been known to eat fruits and grass. They are still carnivorous animals though and although they can digest some goodness from cereal crops and vegetables, they wouldn't thrive on a full vegetarian diet. They could survive on it, I know several dogs that are owned by 'Vegetarians' but as a dog lover I feel that it's wrong to put our own ideas of what is good or bad to eat on our pets! After all some of the food we eat can kill a dog!
