Our new kitty

When I got home Friday, I got to meet our new 8 month old "kitten." I was ready for a little rough and tumble ball of fur, similar in size and temperament as our other cat was when she was 8 months old. Instead, I encountered a large kitten who is larger than our 2-yr-old cat named Gracie. Gracie is not exactly petite. She's probably average sized, and muscular. She looks like a miniature panther from a distance. Well, this new guy still has some growing to do. He got "snipped" today, so I'll probably go home to a semi-sedated "it." He's not the fireball that Gracie is. He's playful, but in a gentle way. And he has big blue eyes that are very expressive, and he loves to be picked up and held, whereas Gracie tolerates being picked up, and it's so she can get a bearing on where her next destination will be. Oh yeah, I came up with a name for our kitty. I was clowning around (as usual), and said, "What's up, Captain Morgan?" He seems to like the name. And he does have some spiced rum coloring. What have you named your pets?

sounds like your Gracie is like our Rygel, well, he likes to be held, will even jump into our arms to be held - but he's 3 now, and has been doing this jumping thing for somewhat over a year now. Last year (actually about Dec. 30th, 2006) we took in a brother/sister pair and have since found a home for the sister. But the brother, Booboo, we decided to keep. He's a nice laid back fellow, but he does take it into his head to bully some of the other cats, sometimes. He loves the dogs. He was probably as big as a "normal" cat at 8 months, since he was huge right at a year old, and while he hasn't grown any since, he is just a huge boy.

ah it sounds like your new kitty will have a lovely home and be well looked after. We have a 1 year old cat here name is Fifi, my daughter named her after one of her fave cartoon characters. She is a minature cat and stays the size of a kitten throuout her life. We also have a goldfish, my daughter also named him and he goes by the name of 'baby red fish' lol.

My cat's name is Rain. She is a grey tabby that showed up on our doorstep in a rainstorm as a beat-up, water-looged, four-pound kitten. Now, she's a 10-pound dynamo when she's not sleeping :)

We don't currently have a dog, but in the past we have had dogs name Rascal, Skipper, Shelley, Lady, Buddy and Poochie. We also had a cat named Nitey and a rabbit named Al. Currently we have a beautiful black cat named George.

Aww...I like that name! LOL. My cats are named Turn and River because I play a lot of poker, and those are what the two last community cards that are laid down are called. River LOVES sitting in my lap, and loves to give lots of kisses(little kittie tongues are really rough!) Turn loves being in my lap, as well, and will roll over for me to scratch her belly, but much more prefers to just sit right next to me. They both are in love with my dog, Fritz, and they are both bigger than him! LOL (He's a miniature pincher.) Good luck with your new big kitten!

It's fun to have a new kitten in the house. We found ours in a cemetary while visiting my fathers grave site. She was only 3 weeks old. The cuttest little thing. One step forward two back. Meowing her little head off. She's was coming out of some junk pile. No site of any others or a mother. We waited around for a while...and nothing. She's now 1.5 years old and she's got a good life. She's also getting sick of the snow like me.
