Did you wear maternity clothes, or just really baggy regular clothes? Did you wear the maternity clothes that show off your belly or the type that hide it? What was your favorite brand? If you were pregnant in the summer, did you brave enough to wear a bikini? Well I wrote these all in past tense, but if you are pregnant now answer them anyways

I am currently almost 5 months pregnant and although I have definately got a tummy I don't seem quite big enought to fit into the maternity shirts. I have just been wearing the larger shirts that I have in my closet until I am able to fill out maternity tops. I think that it is really cute when pregnant women form fitting clothes. As far as pants go I have been weraing maternity pants for about 3 weeks now and I have to say that Gap jeans are my favorite. I am a little taller and they carry pants in long sizes which helps me out a lot. To bad more maternity store (ones that are cheaper) don't carry the taller sizes.

To funny - I hear ya about flood pants. Since you were speaking about swim suits - does anyone have any suggestions where to get a good one. Since I live in WI it is not quite swim suit season yet but I plan on wearing a lot this summer. My girlfirend who lives 5 minutes away from me and is also due the same week as me has a pool so we plan on laying around like beached whales at her pool this summer quite a bit. I think I am going to have a really hard time finding one - I am quite large in the chest department but otherwise pretty small everywhere else. I am affraid that I won't be able to find something to fit the chest without everything else being way to big. I also need a lot of support. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I just had my baby a few weeks ago so the topic of maternity clothes was relevant to my life. I did not buy many maternity clothes at all. Let me see i bought some maternity jeans, skirt, and one top. 3 items, maternity that is all I bought. I do not like to spend too much on maternity clothes as really you are only big for 3 to 4 months at the most, and I do not intend staying big after pregnancy so i do not want to waste too much money on maternity wear. The maternity wear I did buy was from pumkin patch and the top was not one to show off belly it was loose fitting and black lol, to try and hide belly.
I was lucky when I was pregnant all the summer season of clothes in the shop fitted pregnant women. There were lots of beautiful maxi dresses, baby doll dresses and loose tops, they were in fashion. Now I still wear those clothes now that I am not pregnant.
I am lucky I did not buy too much maternity gear as I only have 2 kilograms to go before I am back to my normal weight so all my usual clothes fit me again, yay.

Forgot to answer one of your questions. With my first pregnancy I was only 17 and I was brave enough to wear a bikini, it did not look so bad. However with my second and third pregnancy there was no way I was going to wear a bikini I wore bathers and a shirt and sometimes board shorts aswell lol.

I wore maternity clothes throughout all 3 of my pregnancies. I just found them to be more stylish than clothes that were a few sizes bigger. I did have people comment on how funny it was that when they saw me from behind I looked like my regular self, but when I turned around there was a huge bump...like I was smuggling a watermelon under my shirt! *LoL* I can say that I was not brave enough to wear a bikini to the beach though. The few times that I did go to the beach I wore a sarong tied around myself to cover it up.

I have always worn both baggy clothes and maternity clothes, but I much prefer the look of maternity clothes as I found baggy clothes made it more difficult for others to know that I was pregnant and not just trying tohide some extra weight. As for showing off my belly, I like clothes that make me look pregnant (as opposed to heavy, which I am anyways, so it is nice to have a reason for the belly), but I do not show the skin of my belly. Wearing a bikini?!! Ha! I would not wear one when I am not pregnant so I certainly did not wear one pregnant, but my sister did right up until she was 8 months along. However, she barely looked pregnant, just like she had a little roll of baby fat. I cannot say I have a favorite brand, but I really like Motherhood Maternity. They have a wide range of styles and the prices tend to be reasonable.

When I was pregnant, I bought only a few maternity clothes because my friends lent me theirs. So I had any kind of maternity dress for any occassion. Its nice wearing maternity clothes because it shows that you are really pregnant and you get some "priviledges" for it. But when I'm just at home, I just wear my husband's clothes because that's more comfortable.

I loved to show my belly when I was pregnat although I never had my belly poke out well until the end you know how it gets.I had a hard time finding maternity clothes that looked good at a cheap price.I could not see paying alot of money for the clothes just for a few months. With my second pregnancy I fell in love with the old navy maternity jeans I am pretty tall 5'11 so I could get them in long and they looked really good.

I really planned on wearing a bikini this past summer- I was 6 & 7 months during the summer. It was my daughter-in-law who inspired me to do so, the year before she rocked her bikini while expecting my granddaughter. But then a bunch of stuff happened this summer, and we just didn't get to the beach :(
As far as maternity clothes, I picked up a couple pieces here & there to round out my regular wardrobe. And comfort was my top concern this pregnancy, not hiding or enhancing.

With my first baby it took a long time for me to show, so I just wore baggy clothes. With the other five pregnancies I wore maternity clothes. I liked Motherhood and the ones that Kohls sells the best.
