Scola has been the most valuable rookie to his team, but I am afraid Kevin Durant will win the award because of individual numbers.

Scola should most definitely receive some votes for ROY in the NBA. One, he has been arguably the most consistent. Two, he plays on a "surprised" contender for the tight Western Conference. He has alot to do with that picking up the slack along with Carl Landry, and Larry Harris when Yao went down to continue their historic winning streak. Three, he is good defensively. Durant, the favorite going into the season, who has been fairly good, not great, on one of the worst teams in the NBA hasn't become defense-oriented, yet. Al Horford, another name in the discussion, has been equally as consistent as Scola, but plays for a team squeaking in at the 8th spot in the subpar, Eastern Conference. Some would argue that Scola is an unconventional rookie at the age of 27, but Ichiro won rookie of the year in baseball after playing numerous years in Japan. If anything their should be at the very least co-rookies of the year with that being Scola and Horford. Durant will get alot of votes, but I'll state it again that he played only fairly good, not great, on one of the worst teams in the league. Durant didn't make the impact that James, Anthony, and Wade made on their teams during their rookie campaigns.

I like Scola very much. His long hair impressed me greatly.
But the best Rookie this year would be surely Kavin Durant!
