How would you know if the person is lying or not?

I really have this instinct that a person is lying to me. It's not that I don't want to believe that person, I am just not contented with what the person is telling me. I just can't tell if I'm right or wrong. Anybody who have studied psychology or whatever here wanna share their thoughts?

i usually can feel it if someone is not telling me the truth. i feel if a person is lying to me or not. there are also obvious signs when you are talking to that person, some say when the person you are talking with keeps on looking to his left side, he is most probably lying. people who looks on their right talking to you with upper motion of the eye means they are thinking of what to tell you.
some talks fast too, just so they will end the conversation, some changes the topic and will not answer your question, if you did get them to answer, beware it might be a lie.

The person who tells lie do some of the following actions
1) turns his eyes very fastly
2) bites his nails
3) looks down frequently
4) tells the lie very fastly or very slowly
