My niece just passed the recent Nursing board exam.... is it an indicator that she is successful in her chosen profession???
For me, she is just one step ahead of becoming successful in her chosen field coz success is not to be measured by ones achievement in life but by the obstacles while trying to succeed..... Passing the board exam is one obstacle hurdled.....
What do you think????

You are right An examination is never a means to judge an individuals's whole being? It is absurd that we treat somebody passing exams like supernormal people. People have discovered examinations just to decide which one to admit to a course or class to balance openings available and number of people available. I think its parents who start comparing their children to somebody else to cover up their insecurity of seeing their child left unemployed or backward.
Every body is a success!

I dont think so that it is an indicator for being successful. because that is just one step for you to continue and pursue your career.
you could pass the baord exam but couldnt find yourself a job to begin with... ( i know someone like this who has been having a hard time finding himself a job.) i guess competition is really tough in his field and he has to be better than all others.
it takes more than a board exam.. i guess you also need luck to be successful.

You are right in there. She must prove now, not only to herself but to other people that she is indeed a good nurse by practicing her profession. Passing the board exam only means that she is really ready to be a nurse and that the government is recognizing his skills and abilities because she had reached their standard.
Good luck and congrats to her!
