I believe in chance, rather than fate. At some time in everybody's life there is a chance to do something different, an opportunity is offered or a change of direction is possible. It is up to each of us as individuals to make the most of what life has to offer. Some people will think themselves lucky to have that opportunity, others will not want to take the risk of failing or facing disappointment. Life is what you make it.

chance and fate can go together to make your dreams come true if you are true to yourself and pursuing the right path meant for you...

i agree. if something is meant to happen, it will happen even if there are people or situation trying to thwart you from making it happen for you to mess up your plans...again, that happens for my main character in The Sand Dollar.

i believe fate exists n there is always a certain plan according to what life works but i also believe that we can change fate if we really put in effort. i have faith that if something's my destiny then it will happen for e.g. it's pre-planned whom i'm gonna marry, how many kids i'm going to have n how long i'm gonna live BUT things we can change are also there like how successfull i can be if i work honestly n how much love i can take from people by being a nicer person n how much good i can do in this life.

fate is a person's path in life based on a predetermined plan, set by God, towards a certain outcome. everyone's fate is destined to happen or turn out in a particular way, depending on that individual and what that person is meant to do on earth, goal in life.

I really liked fifileigh's response. Fate is indeed a predetermined path created by God. All humans are given some special abilities as fate. Its only after we take birth that we forget what was our ability. By trying various things we do understand that we learn some things very quickly and somethings take a longer time. Personally I myself believe that if we try to get something which is not meant for us, we do have to suffer a lot. Certain other things come to us so fast and we are meant for them. The logical method of determining the special ability is to try to do different things and look for the best one. The illogical and unexplainable method is described as meditation and spirituality in theology.

i agree...if someone pursues the wrong thing, they will suffer in life because it is not meant for them no matter how badly they want it to be...people need to accept themselves of who they really are and take make a list of their valuable skills, and be true to themselves...before pursuing whatever it is meant for them.
in my novel, The Sand Dollar by Fifi Leigh, i write about that, and the main character meditates a lot for truth in her life and her right path..that is one of the reasons i gave it a spiritual title...

Im not to sure about fate but i think things happen for a reason, we just have to find out the reason in order to help us deal with whatever happens.
How did fate actually start anyway? Who decided that we should believe in fate.
I dont think fate is something we have to work on as we dont control fate. Is not as if we can rewind time to change what happens, if we could my life would be on constant rewind!!

fate started because everything happens for a reason, based on a predetermined plan. we r all saying the same thing just in different words...
