HOUSE or CAR?

A house is important because it is our shelter, the place where we live. House rentals usually eat a great portion of our income in case we do not own a house. A car or vehicle is also important because it enables us to go to places with ease and comfort any time we wish.
If you are just starting, which would you prioritize to acquire...a house or a car? Why?

My dad is retired, bought the house of his dreams that needed (needs) some spiffing and updating. brother says he has putted too much money into the house, however-- he live there and he wants to be comfortable and pleased with home. he is pleased with the results and experience much satisfaction. My brother wanted to buy car instead of house, a luxury one but i'm happy that dad bought house as he will have a sweet home to live.

I would have to have a car first. I need a way to get to work to make money to save for a house.

It really depends where you live.
In Australia a car is very important if you want to move around and see places.
Most people in Australia will buy a car first.

wow..tough decision..lol, living here in USA, both plays a very significant role in every family but for me, I would rather choose to have a house if I have someone to bring me in my workplace(if ever I am working), if no one can do it and my workplace if far, have to choose car first and just rent a house! sorry for having so much IF's...I find it hard to decide..lol

If I have money I will buy a house.
Most people consider house is family.
If we live in a big house,we have enough private space.
We can do what we like to do and won't disturb other families.
I can not drive now.I don't have any plan to buy car.

Hello,Heart! IN case i do not have my own hose,i must go first to possess one and leave the car for future, because i will there by save a lot of money every month which i was paying as rent with that saved money i will purchase a car latter.besides in a rented house you will have no security, anytime you will bwe required to vacate the houseand try for another.this is really pathetic.so please purchase a house first and deffer the purchase of the car.thank you.

I think a house is far more important. People put too much emphasis on having a car. I think that is part of why people are getting overweight. I think when I return to America, I will not get a car again. I have become accustomed to either using public transportation and riding a bike or walking. I never considered those possibilities when I was there. In that respect, working in China has been good for me. I would definitely go for a house first!!!

Well depending on where I was working and living (i.e. is there good public transport) then I would buy a house first. However, if there is bad public transport then definitely a car (a cheap one at that).
It is great to be able to buy a house and know that it is yours but for so many people this is just not possible and with the world economoy going a bit bonkers at the moment ... you don't want to lose everything (car and all) if the mortgage repayments become too much!

Have to agree with wickedangel. Depends on the location where I stay. If getting a ride to work turns out to be a major hassle, then I'll definitely get a car first. If not, I'll buy a house. But then nowadays since I spend a lot of time at home working on this internet marketing business, I think a house is more important. As long as a car can get me from point a to b, it doesn't matter what car it is, or how old it is.
