Britney Spears Will Get Own TV Sitcom

Britney Spears is reportedly opening her own dance studio, might host the Kids Choice Awards, and she's is in talks for her own CBS sitcom. Brit's latest offer is definitely the one she should take. The producers of a new revival of "A Streetcar Named Desire" in London have offered Britney the lead role of Blanche DuBois. If she accepts the role, she will follow in the footsteps of Vivien Leigh, Jessica Lange, Jessica Tandy, Tallulah Bankhead, and Glenn Close. A source close to the production told Showbiz Spy, “Britney’s been on the list for this for some time but was considered too risky until recently. Her appearance in the American TV show How I Met Your Mother changed all that. She had poise, timing, and real flair. We wanted her for Blanche because, even though she’s technically too young to play her, who else could embody this fallen Southern Belle so well? She’s living out the story, so to harness that on stage would be amazing for an audience to see — and cathartic for Britney, too.”
