Do you mark "best response?" -- Do you rate?

Who here goes back into most of their discussions to award the "best response" to someone?
I try to do it for all my discussions. I think it's fun. I try to wait a day or two after the last response has been given and the topic has died down a bit so most people who plan on answering have gotten their response in.
If it has been a week or two and there are only one or two responses, I go and give one the best response.
How many of you all go back and rate best response?
*** ALSO, how many of you rate the comments in the discussion with a (+) or (-)? I almost ALWAYS give out positive ratings (+)s to the discussions I read and those I write for sure! I think I have given out only one (-) to someone who had a derogatory answer to something which made me irate. If I have a different opinion than someone I will usually just skip and not rate that response. How about you?

I give out Best Responses, but try to give my discussions some time before I do, because some of my friends will go back and answer them after a couple of days. I also try to rate everyone, but sometimes I forget to, so I end up going back in and rating when I choose the best response.

Yes I do rate and I do mark best response when I feel it is the best response to my topic. Even though the response is not what I wanted, I dont rate anyone with a [-} sign as it may affect the person's reputation and earnings as well. I try to be positive to all myLotters. Its worth rewarding to members to be rated as they also have given the effort to respond to your topic and in a way help each other here in myLot.

I usually like to leave each discussion on a average a week before I award best response, so it gives people a chance to respond, rather than awarding it straight away, because you know how it goes you award someone with best response then someone else will come along with a much better and more worthy response for it! I also rate positive informative and interesting responses, I am NOT biased in that even if a newbie responds well I will give a + If someone disagrees then I won't mark them as negative. I only give negative marks to one worders or if someone is blatantly rude and offensive.

I almost always give people a positie rating for the effort. The only time I don't is when someone posts something really off topic, rude, or inappropriate to a discussion.
As for best response, I only really give them to amazing responses, like the time I asked if people had tried Turkish Delight, and someone actually posted a RECIPE in the responses. The rst of the time I'm just out for opinions, and not looking or a competition, so I don't rate bst response.

Hello Bethany
I wait a little more then 2 weeks to give a best response. Some times I don't give a best response because I don't think that the responses that I got deserve it.
I always rate + people that respond to my discussion and I when I respond to a discussion a give it a plus because in case that I forget that I responded to that discussion I can see that it's rated.
This could seem a weird thing to do but if you come upon a discussion that has a lot of responses and you don't remember if you responded to it, what do you do? Do you go and see the discussion's you responded to or go page to page to see if you responded to it.
Doing it my way you save a LOT of time. You can respond to another discussion in the time you waste doing the search.
Take care and have a great day

There are only a few of my posts that I have given the best response because with some of the posts there were so many great responses that I couldn't choose just one. And with others , the post was purely a opinion, there Isn't a best response. I rate everything I read. I have only had give out a - only a few times and it was because of a mean comment or a off topic comment. I have only given out one ! It was for an improper comment.I will give out a + to a comment I completely disagree with as long as it is written well.

I rate all the discussions that I comment on. I also rate all the comments left on my own discussions. I don't usually rate all the comments that users leave for discussions I didn't start though. Once in awhile, if they stand out I will though.
I always give a best response to my discussions but usually not right away. I try and wait awhile to make sure the majority of the people who are going to respond do. Then I go back and choose.

I always give + just for the sake that they had devoted time to read my post and took time to answer it. I only give + once to a person unless I find their multiple post significant and sensible. If the opinion is different from mine, I just tell them why I don't agree with them.
I also mark the best response as such not only because we have the same opinion but because his/her answer is well-thought and well-elaborated. There are some people here who just response for the sense of responsing. They don;t even read the premise well and then they just type in their answer.

I usually try to pick the best response within a week but occasionally pile them up till suddenly I realise I havent chosen one.
I rate all people who respond to my discussions and also all the discussions I respond to - I dont ever remember giving a - rating: its always a +!!
If I do not agree with the person I still rate it positive if the person has discussed it well. If people give wrong advice, cheat or spam I skip those posts. Blatant cheating etc get a negative rating

I always rate positive to all those who've given effort in responding to my own discussion, I sometimes give negative if I find a response or a comment too offensive and if I know that they are already giving misleading informations. But most of the times, I only leave them unrated and uncommented.
As for resolving my own post, I only mark a "best response" if ever I know that the flow of my discussion has stopped and that I already see a strong contender for that feature. The maximum amount of time I wait is, a week or two then check back on it and choose the one's that I believe deserves the reward..

Hi Bethany1202! I always give a best response and also state which date and time I'm going to give it.That way people can get a post in before the deadline! if you look around you'll see people joining the 'Star Rebellion' I only use (-) if someone is abusive or they have asked me to 'rate them down'.

I always go back to my discussions to pick the "best response". I usually wait at least a week or so, so that others have a turn to add their responses.
As for the responses by others, I usually always go through and rate all those too. I have never give a - rating. I would give a - only if the person was being mean and not responding with proper manners..lol I won't rate someone a - just because their oppininon is different than mine. I don't believe that is right, the - votes should not be used for that. If someone responded, I will give them a + for responding, as long as it is respectful to the person they are responding to.
Thanks for the discussion post, have a great day.

I never rate best response, I don't know why, I guess I think it's just a decision that is too hard! But when I obviously see an answer that I think is the best one, then I'll probably rate it best response.
I do however rate comments and discussions with a + or -. You would have to make a very awful response or topic to get a - from me though. :)
I think I have only given a - once, I don't remember why I did it, but I'm sure that response or that discussion deserved it.
