Hi -
I know this was submitted three months ago, but I thought I'd respond anyway...
One of my favorite quilt patterns is the traditional nine-patch with an alternating square. I also enjoy piecing rail fence patterns. Baby quilts are so much fun! I have made a few with a large panel in the middle and then expanded it by adding several borders in the colors that match or compliment the colors in the panel. They've turned out pretty, I think.
I get a lot of inspiration from quilting books I check out from the library. I'm a very visual person, so I'm drawn toward certain authors it seems. I really like Eleanor Burns, Nancy Zieman, and Fons and Porter quilt books. You might check your local library to see what they have.
Hope you're enjoying your quilting!

Hi, Thank you for responding.
I dont think it really matters how old the discussion is, its always nice to get input.
I love making quilts. It gets a tad frustrating when my sewing machine decides to misbehave but I still love it. I sounds like you really enjoy quilting too. I like the various quilting magazines they get in at the library. I'll check out the library to see if they can get those books.

What a beautiful quilt! I've always wanted to try the modified log cabin. Would you be willing to share dimensions with me? If you have them handy. :) Thank you for sharing your photo with me.
I find I'm always inspired by others' quilts! :)

I have quilted quite a bit,and a year or so ago I worked two pram quilts for twins ,they were both girlsI dont like working to a partcular pattern,as long as all the colours of thre fabric blend then I like t o see where the fabric takes me,I put a light batting inside, and covered the back with a soft cotton sheeting, they were hand worked,I always work by hand, and they had a ruffle around the edge.In the end I was quite pleased by thwm.I enjoy quilting,it a peaceful pastime
