it's also said here that children can get fever when they are teething. not only fever, but also vomitting and diarrhoea too. though my son just had a little fever if i remember correctly. my sister's son is having diarrhoea though now as his teeth is starting to come at the back there i think.

Me too! But I think teething just makes the baby more likely to get a fever, but probably isn't the realy cause.

In fact many reasons can make a baby have a fever. Growing teeth is only one of the reasons. Sometimes having a cold will be easily to have a fever, too.

Well, I took care of my niece and nephew and other babies and they all had that same experience. I don't know why some doctors refuse to believe they are connected. Even adults have fever when the wisdom tooth comes out, right? Well, not all of them but some just like babies.

Doctors don't see a connection, I've been told that there's no reason for a teething baby to get a fever by a couple of doctors too. But mom's have been seeing it happen probably since the dawn of time. I have 4 children, all four of them experienced it. They didn't get fevers with every tooth they cut, but at least once during a period of teething they would get a low grade fever. Perhaps they're more apt to pick up a minor infection when they're teething, that they wouldn't get otherwise and perhaps the only symptom is the fever. After all they're already fussy with teeth, you wouldn't notice additional fussiness.

Well, my baby did not get a fever when she was teething... and my mother-in-law said that she is lucky... but she was quite irritated during that time... i think the doctors cannot find an explanation that will link teething and fever... but my baby's pediatrician said that it is quite common...

Yes when my son was teething he had a fever I gave him infant tylenol for the fever and ambasol for the teething. Also a teething ring that you can put in your freezer is also a good option for baby's teething.

Yes i believe so because of the pain that the baby is experiencing then expect her temperature to go up, some even have lbms, just be sure to let her take her vitamins for her teeth which the pedia prescribes, it will help ease the pain

I tend to agree with the doctors. A fever means that there is an infection.. babies teeth for days on end lots of times not getting a fever. My children never got a fever and I have 5. having a tempt of 100 or less is not really considered a fever in a young child. 98.6.. some people run higher on norm and some people run lower for thier norm. I would have to say take your babies temp when you dont think they are sink and find out their normal temp..98.6 is just the majority of regular tempts for people. Remember when you are taking a temp rectal is the most accurate when you take it under the arm you add one point and when you take it in the mouth you subtract 1 point for accuracy. Happy Parenting

Yea I believe in it as well. I've heard from my parents as well as a pediatrician. Teething can cause a fever as well as diaper rash. When we as adults get tooth aches and what not is that the only thing? No, some of us get ear aches and fevers with. So I guess this one is left up to you to decide whether you want to believe it or not.

Babies do often run a low fever when some of their teeth come in. Sometimes though, this can be because they are getting sick at the same time that their teeth are coming in. A lot of doctors are hesitant to blame a fever on teething, but many mothers have seen it happen. You should usually be able to tell whether your child is sick or is just teething.

Yes this is very common with teething babies. They get fewer and sometimes really high when they are around to get teeth. Giving medicines like calcariaphos ( homeopathic medicine) helps the baby in these hard times. The use of teethers is also highly remmonded during this period.

it is very possible. it doesn't happen for every baby, or every tooth, but it does happen. as long as it is a mild fever, there is no need to worry. just give some tylenol and keep an eye on the fever. your baby may also have a mild earache and may tug or pull at her ears. keep an eye on the ear pulling. if there is ear pulling with crying afterward, there can be an infection. this should be immediately addressed with your pediatrician. if there is ever bleeding from the mouth, or a change in the color of the gums, this is not normal however! go to the emergency room or a pediatric dentist ASAP.

My first son cut his teeth with a fever so I know that it is possible. My second son cut his with diarrhea, which was overwhelming. When my daughter first started teething we didnt realize that she was actually teething and she kept running a fever.I took her to a pediatrician, not her regular one because he was on vacation. This dumb man ran all kinds of tests on her which caused us hundreds of dollars, and still couldnt find anything wrong with her.So I asked him if he thought it could be she was teething and of course he said no,teething doesnt give babies a fever.Well ladies and gentlemen her tooth came out and the fever stopped so I am a believer that it happens.
