When did you have your first baby?

Rencently I heard that many of my friends will give birth to a baby in a few months or just be pregnant. Most of them are about 30 years old. I also have some friends who are preparing to get pregnant in the middle of 30s. Some others had their first baby in the age around 40. I'm near 30 and I have no baby yet. When did you have your first baby if you have at least one? And when will you expect to have a baby if you are not a momther/father right now?

I had my first baby when I was 16 and am now pregnant with my last at 28. I have found that it was an easier pregnancy when I was younger. I am having so many more issues now at 28 with this last pregnancy. My body was in a lot better shape at 16 then it is now.

I had my daughter almost 2 months before i turned 25 & am due to have my son about a month before i turn 27. I don't think waiting until 40 is the best idea - only because a woman's body is best prepared for children & the strain it puts on their body in their early to mid 20's. I think the longer you leave it, the more problems that can occur. It's not to say you shouldn't wait but the later you leave it, the more trouble your body will have coping with the stresses of pregnancy & the higher the risks for certain problems. The younger you are, the healthier your body usually is but there are some people out there who choose to have a career first & kids later - i guess it depends on the person & their circumstances. I guess i just wanted my kids while i was in my 20's so i would have the energy to play with them as they got grew up - i also don't have to worry about embarrassing my child with being really old or anything when they start school & such. It is a personal decision though, if you want to wait, then that's not a bad thing, just make sure you're healthy & fit so things don't get too hard on your body etc when you're pregnant & that you're not too old to run around & enjoy your kids & their energy!

my son Nick - Nick in Canada.
I had my first and only child at the age of 36. I was a single mother until 4 years ago when I met my wonderful husband. I support the trend of waiting until at least 30 to have children. I think that it is better for the children and the parents. Children are a wonderful blessing but are a lot of work and add a lot of stress to your life and marriage.

I had my first baby right after my 18th birthday. I turned 18 in March and my son was born in April. I had my last baby when I was 31 years old, and I can tell you it is a lot easier the younger you are physically.
