You might be knowing how China is suppressing the freedom of the peaceful Tibetans. They are violating all Human Rights acting the big bully. The situation is very serious& might lead to the next clash of the century. So should Countries boycott the oncoming Beijing Olympics. or Should they participate under protest wearing a black band? or Should they boycott the opening ceremony only? THanks for your time.

I dont think the athletes should boycot any of the Beijing Games. All of these athletes have been training at a very high level for many years, & it would be a terrible disappointment to ban any part of the games. However, I am a strong believer in the right to protest & I do not like at all what the Chinese are doing to the Tibetans. The Australian athletes have been banned from protesting or speaking against human rights abuses (or animal rights). I think this is very wrong. Let the athletes speak up whenever & when ever they want. Wearing black armbands is a good idea (but it should be voluntary). The power of the worlds great athletes can not be understated if they are allowed to speak out whilst at the games. Good Topic.

I'm surprised the Olympics are still going ahead in Bejing with all the controversy over Tibet. Though canceling it now doesn't seem to be an option and it does give lots of opportunities for protests (though China doesn't show them on their television) I think people should wear black arm bands in protest as China can't edit out everyone wearing one so it would make a difference.

I do not think beijing olympic should be boycotted due to china's recent political disturbances . Thorough dialogue it can be solved. US president G.W.Bush talked to chinese premier on the issue. I think problem in beijing olympic may occur due to language barrier i.e. use of english language. It is learnt that chinese govt hiring the services of english speaking people so that there will be no problem when foreign tourist or players will come to their country. English speaking crash courses have been started in some parts of the country. All taxi drivers are being taught english to handle the problems. All hotels in the beijing have been changed their menues.Though the tibet issue is serious in nature but it will pose no problem . pkc3000
