I went to a counselor about a year ago for a couple of months. At first I didn't like the idea of going to a counselor. I know just about everyone would get nervous, but I didn't like the idea of going and telling some complete stranger about myself. Telling her about my problems..things I wouldn't even tell my friends or family. It actually really helped though. After a few times of going I got more comfortable. It didn't bother me telling her what my problems are. I realized that she is there to help and she's been through school for this. She has also heard about things a lot worse than my problems. If I wanted or had to go to a counselor again I would.
How do you feel about counselors?

I think seeing a counselor is a good idea for anyone. There is something freeing about being able to say the things you need to say to someone who will not be affected by them in any way. It is good to hear yourself say the things out load. I personally believe everyone could benefit in some way by seeing a counselor once in a while.

Yes,I agree with you totally .It's quite necessary to seek help from a counselor if you have some mental disorder. They are quite professional they know how to ease your never by nice talking or sometimes might just listening.Mental disease is nothing special compared to physical disease. If we had a problem ,we have to fix it,seek support from others.
