What is a funny story about you and your cats.

I bet you have more than one. I put one under an answer and someone replied that the story was funny. That is what gave me the idea of posting this thread which by the way is my first. I can't say that this is the funniest story by far. I was away for about ten days when my mom and dad moved into a retirement community. During that time, my angel of a roommate took very good care of my two cats as well of course as hers. She adores my cats. When I returned I just happened to notice a whole coffee bean in the living room. I picked it up and looked at it curiously. Then I asked THE QUESTION... "why is there a coffee bean in the living room on the floor?" Without missing a beat, my roommate said "I tried to break up a skirmish between the cats" What had happened was that she had a closed bag of coffee beans in her hand, unfortunately all that happened was that the bag blew open when she tossed it. Of course there were more beans in the bag than there ever would have been if she had not tossed it for the cats. I rolled laughing. I have to add that she did not throw it AT the cats, but in their direction to break up the skirmish. She would never throw anything AT the cats to hit them.

One of our cats will put her play mouse in their water bowl. I guess she thinks she is going to drown them. She used to put pieces of her food in her water bowl also, don't ask me why. Now we have the food and water in two different places because of this. This isn't all that funny but I will tell it. The people who gave me my cat came by one day. (they had a lot of dogs). So the whole time we are trying to look for phantom to show him to the people. As soon as they leave his paw comes out of a cabinet and peeks out. I guess he was hiding. LOL. Here's another one that isn't all that funny. I was watching some funny videos on youtube. I came across the ones of the cats talking. Phantom was beside me. As soon as I started watching the funny cats talk he looked at the computer with real big eyes and started meowing.

Arthur puts things in his water bowl too, even toys. I never heard of a cat that does that until your cat too. LOL Thanks for responding.

One of my cats talks. I don't mean words, or simple miaows, but vocalizations that you can understand their meanings. He's funny, when he wants attention, he vocalizes in long tones, when he's saying hi, it's short, almost stuttery. You'd have to hear it to believe it.

I love it, Paisley talks a lot and so do Turkish Angora's. I have had 3 Turks and all of them talked, but I have never had a regular cat talk before. She yaks away and uses tones like your cat. I swear she is answering me. Thanks for responding.

Many more than one - I could write a book One time one of our cats wanted to get on to the chair where my mother was sitting. The cat went to the door and scratched at the door and thinking that she wanted to go out, my mother got up to let the cat out, as soon as she did that, the cat ran back and jumped onto the chair! Of course, my mother chucked the cat off again, but that incident has always stayed with me as an example of how clever and devious cats can be

Check out the book Cat-House Sonnets, 100 poems celebrating cats. Some of them are very funny. Cats rule.

My first cat, Sab was pretty bright, but she did have her dim moments. I lived in an apartment at the time that only had 1 window, none in the bedroom. I hung up a curtain on the back wall and was planning to hang some lights and a large landscape picture behind the curtain, but never got around to it. Not once, but TWICE Sab and another cat were playing and ran into the bedroom and jumped to where they seemed to think the window sill would be. The second time I saw her flat against the wall, nails out, sliding down! I laughed so hard I had tears!!!

Thanks Don't you know I just opened this up and a big noisy cat - well fight isn't quite the word - broke out in the other room. Chalube was on a window sill objecting to Booboo and Timus threatening him! I shooed Timus away and then grabbed Booboo and hauled his butt out of the area. When he didn't go as far away as I liked, I picked him up and moved him further away. I was awaken by cats around 6:30, I didn't need the others up at 7 a.m.

Nemo is my big fat cat. He's the big scaredy cat too. When one of my other cats is doing something wrong, he tells me. Or anyone who will listen. He walks in the room and goes meow, reow, yeow, meow, meow, and he paws me, trying to get me to follow him to what he saw. Its really funny to watch how he interacts and how upset he seems to get when no one will pay attention to him.

We were all outside in the front garden and my partner had the door to his van open. One of our cats decided to come and have a nose inside the van. But not realising that the door on the other side was closed and that there was a window there he tryed to jump through the window and promptly banged his head on the glass.Luckily the cat wasnt hurt but he hasnt gone inside a car since.

Acouple months ago we (my daughter nd I) adopted a cat from the humane society, he is blank and white and very loving. He is fasinated with the toliet. Soon as figures out you are in there he comes sits in front of you waiting for you to get up. The minutes he hears it flushing he has got to see if he can catch the water going around. I have had to sit on the toliet till it flushes to keep him out of it. He still jumps up on the side and sticks his paw down in the bowl, like he's catching the water as it comes into the bowl. And he likes to take a bath and be blow dried with the hair dryer. One strange cat he is

My parents have had Winston, an orange tabby, for 5 years now, and just adopted a stray, Annie, a small black cat. After the a few months of hissing, batting and chasing each other, they seem to get along, as well as learn bad habits. Annie has taught Winston how to get up on the counters to find food and Winston has taught Annie where the good spots are to sleep, mainly the beds. A few weeks ago, my parents had filled some large plastic containers with cat food - they can't trust the bags anymore - and put them in a cabinet above the stove vent, so obviously that's pretty high. The next morning I came down to feed the cats, but they weren't nipping at my heels.. I thought it was odd. Until I walked into the kitchen. The cabinet door was open, all 3 containers were on the floor and one of them had opened, spilling food everywhere! No wonder they weren't hungry! So I woke my mom to show her the mess and we laughed as we cleaned it up. Needless to say, the cat food is now kept in the unused dishwasher!

My cat Jinx knew the sound of my car. When I would come home for work, he was usually up on the roof and would greet me with a meow. One day I came home and he walked up to the edge of the roof, meowed and started to rub his head on the gutter. Plop! Next thing he knew he was off the roof and on the grass. He was one of the sweetest cats I ever had but he was a klutz!

There was a noise in the kitchen. I went to check; no one was there. I heard it again. I opened the door to the upper corner cabinet. My cat, Peaches, was staring out at me, blinking her huge amber eyes. The cabinet door was closed. This will forever remain a mystery.
