Are you a laundry person? What's your secret?

I am not a laundry person - you know the type -- you give them a shirt with a year old mustard stain on it, and they give it back to you clean. I have made some improvements over the past year. I found out that more expensive laundry detergent really does make a difference. I got a water softener. And most recently I've started adding oxyclean to every load. There is a definite improvement, but I still have a long way to go.
What is the secret to clean laundry?

Well I'm not the laundry type persay,but I get it done,and I have no complaints,which i used to use oxyclean in my laundry,yet I seen no difference in my laundry from before I used it.I do agree the less expensive detergents don't clean as well,like they say you get what you pay for.
