Making extra cash on Ebay?

Does anyone make extra money by selling on ebay? I have only sold one item, a brand new still in box coffee maker I won on the radio. My problem is I don't know what to sell. I have read numerous times to start out by selling things in your home, but I worry that nothing will sell, and I will just be wasting my money. How do any of you sell, and what do you sell?

People do sell their stuff on Ebay. It is good that you actually sold one item, that should be the first step for you. Many people are out there not knowing what to sell.
Be creative and smart as cost difference can matter a lot.

I've been selling on ebay for over 6 years and let me tell you I'm not getting rich...
. I've found that unless you sell brand new things like that coffee maker you won't make much money and it's a lot of work. I have boxes of my mothers clothes that are either brand new or she wore one time and put away and if they were my size I would love to wear myself because she bought very expensive clothes but I can't sell them on ebay. Buyers are looking to get things for practically free and complain about everything. If you want to try it start out small and don't invest a lot of money in it. My bill used to be $50 but I learned and now I'm down to about $15 which is ok by me. Whatever you plan to do good luck!

Thanks for your response! The majority of the items I have found in my home to sell are clothes...but I feel like that's a waste of time, because I know I wouldn't buy used clothing on there for myself. I do have a couple of things that still have the tags attached, so they might sell. I am thinking about visiting some liquidation type stores or some where that I can get products new and cheap...

I have sold a lot of household bits and pieces on eBay in the past few years. I had far too much *stuff* in the house so I decided to list a few items to see if I could raise a little money. When I sorted out my wardrobe and found a load of clothes I no longer wanted, they were listed and all sold.

I have made a good amount of extra money selling on ebay. There is a way where you can get an item for free or pay like $60.00 ...and that it is worth like $400-or more,and the rest is all profit after paying for ebay/paypal fees..You do have to work for it though, I am not making it sound easy but at the same time its not hard at all it can be done...just takes a bit of work..It's a bit too much of information so if you want to know more about it message me and I will be more then happy to tell you more about it. And no, I would not be wasting my time here, its not a scam.
