Would you date someone from another country that you met on the internet, if you had similar interests and beliefs, once you got to know that person?

I am from Canada, my Husband is from USA, we met on the internet 6 yrs ago while play on a game site, and we have been married now for 4 yrs and have 3 beautiful children.
I know this didn't answer your question but I wanted to give you an example that sometimes good things can happen when you meet someone on the internet, but you really do have to be very VERY cautions.

Congradulations, godfrey884, i am so glad to hear a good story at least. So it is not all bad, you just need to be careful. Thanks.

nope! over the net, you will never know if the person you are talking to on the other line is telling the truth or not. Even me would lie a little with my chatmates. So, how would I know if he has a clean intention towards me?

Not if they were from another country no, because I don't believe that long distance relationships can work, it's ok if you are in the same country but different countries it would be hard to form a close relationship, unless you have the money to keep flying over which would prove difficult for both people. I don't date anyhow because I am single, I am very happy to have friends from different countries on Mylot but I wouldn't date anyone.

I have done long distance relationship dating within the US, and it is difficult! I honestly do not know if I would subject myself to a relationship with someone from another country, and the only reason would be the distance. If I wanted someone, I would want to be able to meet them and see them often. That would be a lot more difficult. If they are here in the states, you could just drive to see them. Can't do that if they are across the ocean though.

I cant see why not, if i was sure i new them totally then yes.
If i was stil a little unsure of the person then i would take things extreemly slowly, meating in public places etc, making sure it was in my home country too, if they were genuine enough they would come and see me!

I understand, but you know what you can never be totally sure you know anyone. But i like the part about them coming to your country and taking it very slowly...lol...lol.
