I respect my parents and all elder members of my family and i think this is our duty to respect our parents. Because where ever we stand is all becuase of them.

I respect mine completely. They have always been there for me, even pregnant and unmarried, and have raised me so well. I think children today are getting less and less respectful, and I think its because they don't have discipline anymore. People are too afraid of being accused of abuse for a spanking, or of their children not liking them. My husband said there was a study that said most of the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies say they were disciplined as children, so I don't think discipline is going to screw up a child. I think living with no limits is! I only hope I can raise my child(ren) as well as my parents did us.

I respect my parents. Nowadays, there are less respect. Why? I'll tell you why. I blame the parents, because they hardly spend time with their kids and there's no connection between them. The stress of work is one of the major problems why parents sometimes forget to spend quality time with their own.

Not completely true?..If one means with new generation that all of the new ones dont then it is wrong..Well I am not trying to buse that but atmosphere is a lot better here in pakistan than probably in Us..Reason is joint family system every one leads a happy life and has love for all..

respect is one thing, right or wrong is another.
parents do make mistakes, so, when they are wrong, I will tell them, but they wont admit it, maybe I will quarrel about this with them,it's hard for me to respect them at that time.

Yes i agree with you...but you have to admit that there may be opinion differences and it doesnot make them small ..Once we accept that because of them only we are here then we may start thinking other way.....try to learn why they are stiuck to their views...there must be something good for you...Keep it up...Thanks for Response

I respect my parents but I'm not of the "new" generation you are referrng to. I hope my son respects me but I also know that kids today are very different from when I was growing up. Peopel take to many things for granted today and are not as willing to work to get what they want. I think in most civilized countries, kids are being spoilt and when they grow up they aren't ready for the real world. I was tought to respect my elders but somehow I think kids today aren't being tought that.
If we want our children to respect us, we have to be a good role model for them.

There are many problem which can be solved. and if as a parents we are making mistakes it is in our hand that we can make better relations with them, not by just being parent they will respect us.....we can show them right way to lead their life...thats what will make them respect us....Keep it up...Thanks for Response
