How Do You Decide When To Delete Friends...?

Almost every friend's profile that I looked at yesterday showed that they hadn't been logged in here for more than 2 months. Now I'm wondering if I should delete them from my friends list or give them more time to show up. I mean, I wasn't here for a few months but still kept most of my friends. :) How do you decide when to delete the friends on your list?

I deleted some that haven't been on in months, I just returned after 6 months or longer, and a lot of them on my list just had 100 posts from a long time ago. It's easier for me not to have a billion friends to look through.

I am in the same situation as you are. I'm just returning after a lengthy hiatus, and I have a bunch of friends to look through...some don't even seem to be active anymore.

Well, I have been deleting a lot of people that were on my Friends list due to lack of being on here, but only if they really were also never one to respond much in my discussions as well. I have people on my list I would Love to see come back in here and be active again as this is an awesome place to be. But at the same time, I have a lot of friends in my Friends list, and sometimes I feel you gotta do what you gotta do, and move on from there. There is always many more people in here ready to replace them.

That's true, you can always make new friends. I think I'm going to delete those that haven't responded very much to my discussions AND who haven't been here in a few months.

I have only just returned to MyLot after a break and although some of my friends here have also taken breaks, I would not delete them. I have only ever deleted people from my list if they have been unpleasant or simply just wanted to promote their links

Yes, I would delete people if they were unpleasant or just trying to promote links but not replying to discussions. Thanks for your reply.

It's hard to decide when to do it. I have only done it once since I've been on mylot (1 year). I might take another look next month or so.

Two months is a fairly long time, but as you said, I often hear people take a break for a few months from this site sometimes for whatever reason. I would say give it maybe five or six months befoer you delete someone. I am new here and fairly active, so I don't really have that problem, but I think every few months, maybe every four months or so, I will delete inactive friends.

Yeah, I am thinking if they are inactive for around 6 months then I will probably delete them. Thanks for posting.

Nonono...You shouldn't delete them. Why you want to do that? It's just because of that they logged in here less than 2 months?I think friends is very important no matter how they are.You should give them time.I logged in here just for 1 month but I have many friends now and none of them have ever deleted me.

I just thought if they were inactive, then what would be the point of keeping them on my list since they aren't creating new discussions or replying to any.

I think it depends on who the people on friends list are and how often we talk -- if we do talk at all. If there was someone I messaged regularly and they suddenly stopped responding and no longer came on, I'd very likely not delete them from my friend list until maybe a year passed. There could have been a situation in their life that prevented them from coming online and wouldn't want them to return after a month or so and find I deleted them. I think a year is enough time for them to have returned. If there are people on my friend list who I have never chatted with, then I'd probably delete them if they haven't on after 4 months or so.
